Noopur Gaikwad bids farewell to JioHotstar after three years
The assistant manager, who grew a $2m-plus portfolio by 126 per cent year on year, signs off from the organisation where her media journey began
MUMBAI: Banker, marketer, dealmaker. Noopur Gaikwad has worn all three hats in six years, and now she is ready for a fourth. After three years at Disney Star and its successor JioHotstar, the assistant manager has signed off with a flourish, a thank-you and a rocket emoji. “Onwards and upwards,” she says.
Gaikwad’s pitch is as sharp as her résumé. She turns difficult prospects into long-term clients, and long-term clients into revenue growth. With six years in banking, media and advertising sales, she describes herself as a growth marketer and account management professional, specialising in enterprise business development and high-value relationship management.
The numbers back the claim. Gaikwad has grown a portfolio of more than $2m by 126 per cent year on year, achieving 96 per cent of target. Her client list spans high-net-worth individuals and leading global brands, including Volkswagen, Skoda, Marriott International, Tata Motors and Hero.
Her current passion is over-the-top (OTT) and connected television (CTV) platforms. She has been helping brands scale their presence in a space she says is reshaping how audiences consume content, and helping brands reach the perfect target group.
Disney Star is where she started her media journey. She joined in 2023 and, in three incredible years, watched the transition from Disney Star to JioHotstar, with all the chaos, madness and countless cups of coffee that came with it, along with the fun of getting it all together. From selling some of the biggest shows to building relationships, chasing targets and creating a few stories of her own, she says she has come a long way. Now, she says, it is time for another leap. She is grateful for the people, the lessons, the madness and the memories.
The career path is worth a look. Gaikwad has been assistant manager at JioHotstar in Mumbai since January 2025. Before that she was senior marketing executive at Disney Star in Mumbai from October 2023 to December 2024, working on business relationship management and communication, among other skills.
The banking years came first. She was senior manager at Kotak Mahindra Bank in Mumbai from August 2022 to September 2023, again focused on business relationship management and communication. Before that she was deputy manager at ICICI Bank in Mumbai from October 2020 to August 2022, where she earned a certificate of appreciation.
The early chapters were varied. Gaikwad was a summer intern at Amul (GCMMF) in Mumbai from May 2019 to July 2019, working in advertising, and received an experience certificate. She began as a project engineer at ARSS Biofuel Private Limited in Nasik, Maharashtra, from June 2017 to June 2018.
It is a route from engineering to banking to broadcast, and it shows. Gaikwad has swapped sectors without losing momentum, and she leaves with her reputation, and her numbers, intact.
