MUMBAI: Power play meets camera play. Motorola has started sales of the moto g77 POWER in India, bringing a smartphone with a 50MP Sony camera, a 7,000mAh battery and 5G connectivity to the mid-premium segment at an effective starting price of Rs 23,999.

The handset is now available through Flipkart, Motorola’s online store and leading retail outlets across the country. The launch price includes a bank cashback of Rs 3,000, while exchange and no-cost EMI offers are also available.

Motorola is positioning the device as a camera-first smartphone, with a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary sensor featuring Quad Pixel technology for improved low-light photography. The rear setup also includes an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while the front houses a 32MP selfie camera, which the company claims is the highest-resolution front camera in its segment.

The camera system is backed by AI-powered features such as Portrait Mode, Frame Match, Auto Smile Capture and Super Zoom. Users also get access to AI editing tools within Google Photos, including Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Reimagine and Auto Frame.

The smartphone sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1,050 nits and Display Color Boost technology. It also supports Water Touch technology, allowing the screen to remain responsive even with wet hands, while stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos aim to enhance the multimedia experience.

Battery life is another major focus. The moto g77 POWER packs a 7,000mAh battery that Motorola says can last up to three days under normal usage. It supports 30W TurboPower fast charging as well as 6W wired reverse charging, enabling users to charge compatible accessories and devices.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor built on a 6nm process. It comes with 8GB of RAM, which can be expanded virtually to 24GB using RAM Boost, alongside 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card.

The handset also integrates AI features powered by Google, including Gemini and Circle to Search, offering contextual assistance and faster search capabilities directly from the screen.

On the design front, Motorola has equipped the smartphone with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, SGS-certified MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability and an IP64-rated water-repellent design. The phone is offered in a vegan leather-inspired finish in Pantone-curated shades of Nautical Blue, Fuchsia Red and Impenetrable.

Customers purchasing the device with a Jio SIM can also avail an operator offer that includes 5,000GB of cloud storage for 18 months and complimentary access to Google Gemini Pro, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

With its emphasis on camera capabilities, long battery life and AI-powered features, Motorola is looking to strengthen its presence in India’s competitive mid-range smartphone market, where brands continue to compete on both hardware and software experiences.
