Miraj Entertainment promotes Sameer Munshi to chief operating officer
Former operations and F&B head to drive expansion, customer experience and tech-led growth
MUMBAI: Miraj Entertainment is giving its operations a starring role. Miraj Entertainment Ltd has promoted Sameer Munshi to chief operating officer, expanding his remit to lead business growth, operational excellence and food and beverage strategy across the company’s cinema network.
Munshi, who previously served as vice president of operations and F&B, brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in mall management and cinema exhibition. In his new role, he will report directly to the leadership team at Miraj Group.
As chief operating officer, Munshi will oversee multi-location operations and business development while introducing tighter operational benchmarks, standardising processes across properties and strengthening customer experience initiatives. He will also be tasked with driving a technology-enabled operating model to improve efficiency across the organisation.
Food and beverage, an increasingly important revenue stream for cinema operators, will remain a key focus. Munshi will lead efforts to premiumise Miraj’s offerings through regional menu innovations and corporate brand collaborations aimed at increasing F&B revenues.
Announcing the appointment, Miraj Group group chief executive officer Arvind Jain said Munshi’s promotion reflects the confidence the company has developed in his leadership and execution capabilities.
Jain said Munshi’s understanding of both cinema operations and food and beverage economics makes him well placed to support Miraj’s next phase of growth. He added that the company expects his leadership to bring operational discipline and a customer-first approach across the business.
Speaking about his new role, Sameer Munshi said food and beverage has become a significant growth engine for the company.
Munshi said his priorities would include implementing tighter operational benchmarking and building scalable, technology-enabled processes that transform Miraj’s operations into a competitive advantage rather than simply a support function.
The appointment comes as cinema operators increasingly look beyond box office collections to improve profitability through operational efficiencies and higher spending on food and beverages, making experienced operational leadership a key part of long-term growth strategies.
