Mercedes-Benz India reshuffles sales and marketing leadership from September 1
New appointments strengthen AI, customer experience and retail finance strategy
PUNE: Mercedes-Benz India is changing gears in its sales and marketing team. Mercedes-Benz India has announced a series of leadership changes aimed at strengthening customer experience, expanding the use of artificial intelligence and integrating retail finance more closely into the vehicle buying journey.
The organisational changes will take effect from September 1 and include new responsibilities across marketing, retail finance and product planning. The luxury carmaker said the reshuffle also reflects its focus on developing internal talent and building future leaders through cross-functional roles.
As part of the changes, Nandita Godbole, currently general manager of the Digital Customer Unit, has been appointed head of marketing, succeeding Amrit Baid.
Baid, who previously led marketing and customer experience initiatives, will now head the company’s retail finance and pre-owned cars business. During his tenure in marketing, Mercedes-Benz India rolled out campaigns such as Dreams Day, Wish Box and G-Tribe, alongside several product launches.
Meanwhile, Jamsheed Bhadha will move to a new role within Mercedes-Benz in Dubai. He will be succeeded by Sanjay Kochar, who currently leads the company’s TEV and BEV sales division.
Speaking on the appointments, Mercedes-Benz India vice president, sales and marketing Brendon Sissing said the changes reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering better customer experiences through real-time data, AI-led solutions and integrated business capabilities while giving employees broader leadership opportunities.
In her new role, Godbole will focus on using real-time customer data and predictive insights to deliver more personalised interactions across the ownership journey. The company said she has previously played a key role in introducing AI-driven customer engagement initiatives that transformed fragmented touchpoints into a more seamless digital experience.
Baid’s new assignment comes as Mercedes-Benz India’s retail finance business continues to expand. The company said financing now supports more than half of all vehicles sold in the country, with its Star Agility programme helping the retail finance portfolio grow beyond Rs 15,000 crore.
The latest appointments underline Mercedes-Benz India’s strategy of combining technology, finance and customer engagement more closely as it seeks to strengthen its position in India’s growing luxury vehicle market.
