McCann India wins 3M Consumer Business creative mandate

MUMBAI: 3M has found its creative match, and McCann India is stepping into the frame. McCann India, part of Omnicom Advertising India, has been appointed to handle the integrated creative mandate for 3M’s Consumer Business in India following a multi-agency pitch.

The mandate covers 3M’s portfolio of consumer brands, including Scotch-Brite, Command and Meguiar’s, and will span a wide mix of communication channels as the company looks to strengthen its consumer business in India.

Under the new partnership, McCann India will work across mainline advertising, social media, e-commerce, influencers and activations. The agency will draw on 3M’s technology-led approach and consumer brand portfolio to build sharper brand differentiation while supporting the business’s broader objectives.

For McCann, the account adds another consumer-facing business to its portfolio at a time when brands are increasingly looking for creative mandates that stretch beyond traditional advertising.

Hari Krishnan, Managing Partner, McCann India, said the agency was pleased to be selected following the pitch, adding that 3M’s consumer portfolio offered an opportunity to combine strategy and creativity to establish a distinct space for its brands.

The new mandate puts McCann at the centre of 3M’s consumer communication across multiple touchpoints, with the partnership expected to focus on building stronger market impact for the company’s consumer portfolio.
