Maserati CEO Santo Ficili opens new chapter in India with Mumbai dealership launch
Global CEO Santo Ficili visits India as the luxury carmaker opens its Mumbai retail and aftersales hub
MUMBAI: Italian supercar maker Maserati has hit the accelerator on its Indian expansion plans, inaugurating its new Mumbai dealership and unleashing a refreshed line-up alongside the track-focused GT2 Stradale.
The grand rollout at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai was spearheaded by Santo Ficili, chief executive officer of Maserati and Alfa Romeo, marking his maiden official visit to India. The move anchors the brand’s partnership with Navnit Maserati, which will operate out of a flagship retail facility at BKC’s Trade Centre. The showroom features complete aftersales operations and a dedicated Fuoriserie zone for bespoke customization.
“India is not simply a market of significant potential for Maserati; it is a strategic chapter in the future of luxury, shaped by a new generation of discerning customers,” says Ficili. “Our partnership with Navnit Maserati, together with the introduction of our new Trident range, underlines our long-term commitment to India.”
The refreshed Trident portfolio introduces structural and aesthetic updates across the Grecale, GranTurismo, and GranCabrio badges. The entry-level Grecale SUV gets a sharper front end, a new 390-hp Nettuno V6 variant, and bumped-up range for its electric Folgore trim, with prices starting at Rs 1.14 crore ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio output up to 590 hp in Trofeo trim, while the electric Folgore variant gets an 80 km boost to clear 540 km on a single charge.
Stealing the spotlight is the road-legal GT2 Stradale, packing a 640-hp rear-wheel-drive Nettuno V6 engine built in Modena. Positioned alongside the top-tier MCPURA family, it represents the brand’s most aggressive track-derived offering brought to Indian roads to date.
“Opening our doors in Mumbai with Navnit Maserati gives us a stronger foundation to serve clients across Western India,” says Maher Abdalla, managing director for Maserati MEA, India and Turkey.
Sharad Kachalia, chairman and managing director at Navnit Maserati, adds: “With the arrival of the new Trident range and the opening of this new facility, our focus is on delivering a world-class retail and aftersales experience that matches the character of the Trident.”
With high-net-worth buyers lining up for customized luxury rides, Maserati is clearly betting that its expanded lineup and local retail push will keep it comfortably in the fast lane.
