Maria Bartiromo exits FOX News Media after twelve and a half years on air

The veteran anchor’s departure ends a run atop FOX Business’s morning slot, as the network hands her shows to rotating anchors and reshuffles its weekday line-up

NEW YORK: Maria Bartiromo’s long innings at FOX News Media has come to a close. The network confirmed that, effective 3 September 2026, Bartiromo is no longer with the organisation, closing out a tenure of twelve and a half years that made her one of the most recognisable faces in American business television. FOX News Media’s own statement struck a warm note, thanking her for her work and wishing her well for her next chapter, a courteous send-off for an anchor who built her morning show into appointment viewing for Wall Street.

The immediate on-air changes are significant. “Mornings with Maria,” which ran from 6 to 9am ET on FOX Business Network, aired its final episode this morning, and will be replaced from tomorrow by Mornings with FOX Business, fronted by a rotating cast of anchors rather than a single successor. Her Friday evening programme, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, also gets a rebrand, becoming FBN’s Wall Street under Cheryl Casone from this week, before it too moves to a rotating-anchor format. FOX Business is clearly using the moment to reset its weekday schedule wholesale, with a new line-up promised in the coming weeks rather than a like-for-like replacement being rushed out.

The ripple effects extend to FOX News Channel as well. “Sunday Morning Futures,” the influential Sunday morning politics and business hour that Bartiromo had long anchored, will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz this weekend, with a permanent host to be named later. That the network is taking its time on both fronts, rather than slotting in an immediate replacement, suggests a deliberate rethink of its morning and weekend business programming rather than a like-for-like swap.

Context matters here. FOX News Media is not a network under pressure. It remains the number one network across all of cable, has held the title of most-watched television news channel for over 24 consecutive years, and FOX Business itself is the top business channel on cable, with the wider portfolio, spanning FOX Nation, FOX Weather and the FOX One streaming service, reaching close to 200 million people monthly. A departure of this scale at a network performing this strongly is a reminder that even at the top of the ratings table, business television is not immune to talent transitions and format refreshes.

For Bartiromo, the exit closes a chapter defined by consistency: over a decade of early mornings, market-moving interviews and a front-row seat to Wall Street’s biggest stories. For FOX Business, the challenge now is filling that consistency with a rotating format bet, a structural choice that trades a singular anchor brand for flexibility, and one that will be watched closely by both the industry and her considerable audience of dedicated viewers.
