Mankind Pharma extends Rs 1 crore support to Captain Smit Macchhar, family
Pharma major turns praise into tangible support, honouring courage during crisis
NEW DELHI: When courage takes centre stage, words can only go so far. Mankind Pharma has put its appreciation into action, extending financial support of Rs 1 crore to Captain Smit Macchhar and his family in recognition of his courage, composure and sense of responsibility during an unprecedented crisis.
The pharmaceutical company said the support is intended to recognise Macchhar’s commitment to the safety and well-being of people placed in his care, with the gesture going beyond a formal expression of appreciation.
Mankind Pharma vice chairman and managing director Rajeev Juneja said the company’s gratitude towards Macchhar could not be adequately expressed through words alone.
“Captain Smit Macchhar’s courage, composure and unwavering sense of responsibility have deeply moved us at Mankind Pharma. In a moment of extraordinary crisis, he put the safety and well-being of others before himself, demonstrating the very best of leadership and service,” Juneja said.
He added that the company wanted its recognition to translate into practical support for Macchhar and his family.
“At Mankind, we believe that actions speak louder than words, and that meaningful recognition is best expressed when appreciation is accompanied by action. We wanted our gratitude to go beyond words and take the form of meaningful support for him and his family,” Juneja said.
The company said the Rs 1 crore support is being extended as a gesture of gratitude for Macchhar’s courage and leadership, as well as the responsibility he demonstrated towards the lives entrusted to his care.
The move also follows an earlier personal contribution by Juneja. On the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, he contributed Rs 9.17 crore, reaffirming his continued personal commitment to supporting those who serve the nation.
With its latest gesture, Mankind Pharma has sought to turn recognition into tangible assistance for Captain Macchhar and his family, placing action alongside appreciation.
