MUMBAI: When technology meets storytelling, the plot is bound to thicken. LTM is bringing filmmaker and storyteller Shekhar Kapur into its AI-powered creative ambitions, with the veteran filmmaker joining LTM BlueVerse Craft as strategic advisor.

The collaboration, announced on 21 September, will see Kapur work with the BlueVerse Craft leadership team on its vision for AI-enabled creativity. The business unit works with enterprises to build creative capabilities at scale by bringing strategy, creativity, technology and production together.

For LTM, Kapur’s role is aimed at adding a storyteller’s perspective to the rapidly evolving conversation around artificial intelligence and creative production. His experience across global cinema will be used to explore how emerging technologies can expand creative possibilities while keeping human imagination at the centre.

Kapur is a BAFTA winner and Academy Award nominee, and has also been honoured with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. His association with BlueVerse Craft comes as brands face growing pressure to produce more content across formats, platforms and markets.

The filmmaker said storytelling has historically evolved alongside technological change, with developments such as cameras and digital filmmaking expanding the creative canvas. He sees AI as another major shift, but one that can give creators more ways to imagine, experiment and tell stories rather than replace the creative process.

“AI represents perhaps the most profound shift yet,” said Shekhar Kapur, adding that the opportunity lies in using the technology to give creators new ways to explore and express ideas.

For LTM, the partnership also reflects the growing intersection of AI and the media and entertainment sector. Sujay Sen said Kapur’s creative perspective would help the company advance Craft’s ambition to rethink how enterprises create, scale and personalise content in the AI era.

The timing is significant as generative AI continues to reshape the economics and speed of content production. Brands are increasingly looking to create, adapt and personalise creative assets for multiple audiences and channels, making the balance between technology and human creativity an increasingly important part of the enterprise content conversation.

With Kapur advising BlueVerse Craft, LTM is looking to put storytelling firmly into that conversation, exploring how AI can widen the creative canvas without taking the creator out of the picture.
