Kalyan Jewellers Q1 profit jumps 32 per cent as revenue tops Rs 10,589 crore
Revenue climbs 46 per cent to Rs 10,589 crore as profit rises to Rs 349 crore
MUMBAI: Gold struck twice and so did Kalyan Jewellers. The jewellery retailer sparkled into FY27 with a strong first-quarter performance, as buoyant consumer demand and steady momentum across its domestic and international markets helped lift both revenue and profit to new highs.
Kalyan Jewellers reported a 32 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 349 crore for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, compared with Rs 264 crore in the same period last year. Total comprehensive income stood at Rs 289 crore, while revenue from operations surged 46 per cent to Rs 10,589 crore, up from Rs 7,268 crore a year earlier. Total income also climbed to Rs 10,645 crore from Rs 7,315 crore.
The company’s strong top-line performance translated into a healthy improvement in profitability. Profit before tax rose to Rs 465 crore, compared with Rs 353 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while total tax expense increased to Rs 116 crore from Rs 89 crore. Profit attributable to shareholders came in at Rs 349 crore, with non-controlling interests contributing a loss of Rs 60 crore.
Expenses rose alongside expansion and higher sales volumes. Total expenses increased to Rs 10,180 crore from Rs 6,962 crore a year ago. Purchases of stock-in-trade remained the largest cost component at Rs 9,100 crore, while employee benefit expenses rose to Rs 315 crore from Rs 210 crore. Other expenses climbed to Rs 316 crore, with advertisement spending alone touching Rs 117 crore during the quarter.
The retailer maintained a healthy balance sheet, with total assets expanding to Rs 16,964 crore from Rs 14,869 crore a year earlier, while total liabilities stood at Rs 5,000 crore. Paid-up equity share capital remained at Rs 1,033 crore, and earnings per share improved to Rs 3.38, compared with Rs 2.56 in the year-ago quarter.
Kalyan Jewellers continues to operate as a single business segment centred on jewellery retail, with operations spanning India and key international markets including the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, the UK and the US, alongside its Candere digital jewellery business.
