Jubilant FoodWorks’ senior VP and CIO Narottam Sharma resigns

Domino’s India operator says a successor will be named in due course, with Sharma’s last working day set for September 18

Personnel changes at the top rarely make for gripping reading, but this one carries a touch of intrigue nonetheless. Jubilant FoodWorks, the operator of Domino’s Pizza in India, has announced that its senior vice president and chief information officer, Narottam Sharma, has resigned to pursue an external opportunity.

According to a regulatory filing, Sharma submitted his resignation via email dated 21 July 2026, addressed to managing director and chief executive officer Sameer Khetarpal. In the letter, Sharma thanked the company’s management for its support during his tenure, writing that he sincerely appreciated the backing extended to him and wished the company continued success in its future endeavours.

The timeline itself is worth noting. Sharma’s resignation email had originally requested to be relieved of his responsibilities with effect from the close of business on 1 September 2026, but the company has confirmed his last working day will instead be 18 September 2026. Sharma also held the position of senior managerial personnel at the company, a designation that carries its own regulatory weight under Indian corporate governance norms, which likely explains the filing itself.

Jubilant FoodWorks has not announced an immediate replacement. The company said in its filing that the board of directors will appoint a successor in due course, with further details on the appointment to follow.

The resignation lands at a moment when Jubilant FoodWorks shares were trading at Rs 417.50 per scrip, down 1.81 per cent as of 1:47pm on Wednesday, though there is nothing in the filing to suggest the two are directly connected. Leadership transitions of this nature are, more often than not, business as usual rather than a signal of underlying trouble, and the company’s own framing, thanking Sharma for his tenure and confirming an orderly handover process, points in that direction.
