JPMorganChase appoints Krithika Swaminathan as managing director
Swaminathan takes on the role of head of data infrastructure product, bringing extensive experience in artificial intelligence, enterprise data platforms and technology transformation.
CALIFORNIA: JPMorganChase has appointed Krithika Swaminathan as managing director and head of data infrastructure product, bringing an experienced technology leader back into the organisation as financial services firms accelerate investments in data, artificial intelligence (AI) and enterprise technology.
Swaminathan announced her appointment in October 2026, saying she was returning with renewed perspective and a commitment to helping teams excel and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers. She thanked JPMorganChase leaders for their trust and acknowledged the leaders who had supported her career.
Her appointment follows a career spanning enterprise software, AI platforms, data governance, cloud modernisation, platform engineering and cybersecurity. She has held senior technology leadership roles at Intuit and Headspace, building global teams and developing technology capabilities designed to improve customer experiences, operational resilience and business performance.
Most recently, Swaminathan was vice-president of mid-market for Intuit Enterprise Suite, from April 2025 to October 2026. She led product development, technology strategy and architecture for a multi-product platform serving mid-market businesses. Her remit included integrating accounting, payroll, payments and business intelligence, while advancing AI-powered capabilities to simplify financial workflows and improve customer productivity.
Before that, she served as vice-president of global data and data capabilities at Intuit from July 2022 to April 2025. She led the company’s enterprise-wide data, AI and platform transformation, building governed, self-service data capabilities and infrastructure to support analytics, regulatory compliance and AI-powered products.
During this period, she led global engineering and platform organisations comprising more than 300 engineers and technology leaders. Her work included modernising data lakes, advancing data mesh and event-driven architecture, strengthening data governance and developing semantic knowledge graph capabilities. The platforms she oversaw supported millions of transactions per second, achieved 99.99 per cent reliability and reduced enterprise data processing time by 50 per cent.
From August 2021 to July 2022, Swaminathan served as executive vice-president and chief technology officer at Headspace. She led the global technology organisation through a period of product and business transformation, overseeing technology strategy across consumer, enterprise, mobile, web, platform and AI initiatives. She also spearheaded the development of an AI-powered mental health companion, combining generative AI with clinical expertise, while prioritising privacy, security and responsible AI deployment.
Her earlier tenure at Intuit included serving as vice-president of artificial intelligence from December 2019 to August 2021. She developed AI, machine learning and MLOps platforms, established responsible AI and explainable AI capabilities, and expanded the use of AI in fraud detection, risk management and lending.
Among the reported outcomes of her work were fraud detection improvements of 50 times compared with rule-based systems, a 79 per cent increase in lending eligibility and the doubling of lending volume within seven months following the Covid-19 outbreak. Her teams also developed real-time risk and fraud decisioning capabilities that reduced payment holding times from seven days to near real time.
Earlier, as vice-president of platform engineering, developer productivity, site reliability, security and quality engineering at Intuit, from April 2013 to December 2019, Swaminathan led enterprise platform and engineering transformation. Her achievements included improving platform reliability from 99.02 per cent to 99.95 per cent, reducing TurboTax’s AWS infrastructure costs by more than 30 per cent and advancing automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, and chaos engineering.
She also served as senior director of engineering at Citrix from July 2012 to April 2013, following an earlier stint as director of development at Intuit from November 2007 to July 2012. Before that, she spent more than six years at Borland Software Corporation as senior director of engineering services and more than four years at Compuware as manager of engineering services.
Swaminathan’s career began in engineering services and has progressed through software development, platform reliability, AI and enterprise-wide technology leadership. Her experience reflects the growing strategic importance of data infrastructure in financial services, where trusted data, resilient systems, security and responsible AI are central to innovation and customer trust.
At JPMorganChase, her new role places data infrastructure product leadership at the centre of these priorities. Her experience building scalable platforms and aligning technology investments with business outcomes provides a strong foundation for the next phase of her career.
