JioHotstar promotes Shannon Rosario to director of ad sales
The streaming platform rewards a media sales veteran who has worked his way up through Viacom18, Sony and Zee
MUMBAI: JioHotstar has promoted Shannon Rosario to director of ad sales, recognising a fast rise through the ranks at one of India’s most competitive streaming platforms.
Rosario has been with JioHotstar and its predecessor entities for just over a year and a half, but has moved quickly. He joined as account director in February 2025, was elevated to associate director in November 2025, and has now taken the director’s role as of June 2026, a trajectory that speaks to both his performance and the pace at which JioHotstar is building out its commercial organisation.
His broader career in media advertising spans more than a decade. Before JioHotstar, he served as senior manager of ad sales at JioCinema under Viacom18 Media, where he spent one year and four months. Prior to that, he put in three years and seven months at Sony Pictures Networks India as a manager, and two and a half years at Viacom18 as assistant manager. Earlier roles include a stint as manager at Zee News’s Zeeunimedia, assistant manager at DB Corp, and senior executive corporate sales at Infoedge India.
Rosario credited Yukti Bhatt, Amrita Choudhary and Prashant Shetty, along with the broader JioStar leadership team, for their guidance and support during his journey.
In a media landscape where streaming advertising is becoming the most hotly contested territory in Indian marketing, Rosario now sits closer to the action than ever.
