Jennifer Winget steps into a new creative chapter with Ekatra Jewels’ Not Just One

Actor co-creates seven solitaire shapes inspired by the many facets of a woman

MUMBAI: Jennifer Winget is turning a new creative page, this time beyond the screen. After two decades of playing different women on television and in films, the actor has stepped into the world of jewellery design as co-creator of Ekatra Jewels’ new solitaire collection, Not Just One.

The collection draws on Winget’s personal relationship with jewellery and style, with seven diamond shapes representing different qualities that can exist within the same woman. Round stands for confidence, Marquise for courage, Heart for nurturing and love, Pear for curiosity and creativity, Oval for clarity and mindfulness, Emerald for drive, and Multi-shape for authenticity.

Rather than presenting these as seven different identities, Not Just One celebrates the idea that a woman can hold several qualities at once.

Winget was closely involved in developing the collection, from selecting the diamond shapes to considering the scale of the settings, how each piece sits on the hand and how the designs can be mixed and worn together. For the actor, the process offered a chance to create something rooted in her own perspective rather than stepping into another character.

“I’ve spent twenty years playing different women and finding a little bit of myself in each of them. With this, I got to do something quite different. I wasn’t stepping into a character or someone else’s world. I was bringing my own perspective into something and seeing it take shape,” said Jennifer Winget.

“This is the first time the thing carrying my name is something I actually made, and that was very special to me,” she added.

The collection reflects Winget’s preference for jewellery that can become part of an everyday wardrobe rather than being saved for special occasions. Not Just One includes rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, studs and drops that can be worn individually or combined across the different shapes.

Ekatra’s proprietary hollow gold construction has been used to keep the pieces lightweight and suited to everyday wear.

“I’ve always believed that the jewellery you wear should feel like an extension of you. I’m not someone who saves everything for a special occasion. I have a few pieces that I reach for all the time because they become a part of your everyday life and, over time, they start carrying memories with them,” Winget said.

The collection’s campaign carries the same idea, exploring the seven shapes through different moods and everyday moments rather than presenting them as separate identities.

“We can be confident and vulnerable, driven and nurturing, curious and grounded, sometimes all in the same day. I think that is what makes being a woman so interesting. The seven shapes gave us a beautiful way to capture those different sides without saying that you have to choose just one,” Winget said.

The collaboration also brings together Winget’s creative input with Ekatra’s expertise in lab-grown diamonds and fine jewellery craftsmanship. According to the brand, every diamond in Not Just One is grown, cut and finished in-house through its farm-to-finger model.

The collection features Type IIa diamonds, which Ekatra describes as accounting for roughly two per cent of diamonds globally. It also incorporates the brand’s Shristi Ratna cut, which has a granted design patent in India.

For Winget, the use of grown diamonds also connects with the collection’s broader theme of intentional creation.

“I liked the idea of a diamond that is created with intention. There is something quite meaningful about that for me. So much of who we become is shaped by the choices we make, the things we build and the experiences we go through,” she said.

The partnership is part of Ekatra’s broader approach of working with women as co-creators rather than traditional brand ambassadors. The brand, whose name comes from the Sanskrit word for “together” or “coming together”, has previously worked with women including Apoorva Mukhija and Pragya Kapoor.

Winget said the collaboration stood apart because she was involved in the creative process rather than simply lending her name to the collection.

“I never felt like I was simply lending my name to a collection. I was genuinely involved in the process and my opinions mattered, whether it was choosing the shapes, looking at the scale or thinking about how the pieces would actually sit and feel when you wear them,” she said.

Ekatra Jewels founder Pavitra Gandhi said, “Jennifer didn’t want to be the face of a collection. She wanted to make one. That is the only kind of partnership we are interested in, women coming together to build, which is what the word has always meant.”

Not Just One is available through Ekatra Jewels’ website and its counters.
