JBL takes its Independence Day campaigns to print with two narratives
‘Sounds Like Freedom’ and ‘The Future of Home Cinema’ spotlight JBL’s latest audio launches
MUMBAI: JBL is turning the volume up on freedom. This Independence Day week, the audio brand from HARMAN is taking its latest products to print with two nationwide campaigns, using the occasion to tell two different sound stories across personal audio and home entertainment.
The first campaign, ‘Sounds Like Freedom’, puts the spotlight on the new JBL Live 780NC headphones and JBL Live Beam 4 true wireless earbuds. Built around the idea of choosing what you hear, the campaign uses Independence Day as a backdrop to position personal listening as an everyday expression of freedom.
The products feature fresh white, green and orange colourways, while the campaign highlights technologies including True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0, Auracast, JBL Spatial Sound and Wireless Hi-Res Audio.
The second campaign, ‘The Future of Home Cinema’, shifts the focus from personal listening to living-room entertainment, featuring the JBL Bar 1300MK2.
Built around the line ‘Effortlessly Precise. Elegantly Wireless’, the print creative highlights True Dolby Atmos, MultiBeam 3.0, DTS:X, detachable wireless surround speakers and PureVoice 2.0, positioning the soundbar as a more immersive home cinema system.
Together, the campaigns use the same national moment to target two very different listening occasions, headphones and earbuds for personal use, and a home cinema system for larger entertainment experiences.
The campaigns also mark a significant moment for JBL, which is celebrating 80 years of its presence in the audio industry. Shekhar Datta, Head, Consumer Audio India, HARMAN India, said the Independence Day campaign was designed around the freedom to experience sound on one’s own terms, while highlighting the brand’s latest innovations.
For Havas Creative India, which created the campaigns, the decision to use print was also deliberate. Anupama Ramaswamy, MD and Chief Creative Officer, said the medium offered an opportunity to tell two distinct stories around personal listening and home cinema while keeping them connected to JBL.
Havas Media and Arena India COO Uday Mohan said Independence Day remains a high-attention cultural moment, with print offering scale, visibility and contextual relevance for brands.
With one campaign turning the spotlight inward to personal listening and the other bringing cinema closer to home, JBL is using the national celebration to make a simple pitch: this Independence Day, there is more than one way to enjoy the sound of freedom.
