Ixigo elevates Subhadeep Chakraborty to head of growth
Chakraborty will lead acquisition, customer engagement and AI-led growth across ixigo’s businesses
MUMBAI: Travel booking platform ixigo has elevated Subhadeep Chakraborty to head of growth, giving him a broader mandate covering acquisition, customer engagement and AI-led growth across the company’s business verticals.
Chakraborty announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he will lead overall growth across paid and organic acquisition, customer engagement and AI-led initiatives across Trains, Food on Train, Metro, Credit Card and flight, hotel and bus cross-sell on the ixigo Train and Confirmtkt apps.
He thanked ixigo chief executive officer Dinesh Kumar Kotha for the opportunity and said he was looking forward to building, experimenting and scaling the company’s growth initiatives.
Chakraborty has been with ixigo for more than four years, joining the company as growth manager in August 2022. He was promoted to senior manager – growth in April 2024 and then to head – CRM & performance marketing in April 2025.
In his previous role, he managed the growth P&L for ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt across performance marketing, CRM and acquisition. His profile shows that he managed a monthly marketing budget of more than Rs 6 crore across Meta, Google UAC, programmatic and owned channels.
During the role, monthly transacting users increased from 0.8 million to 1.26 million for ixigo Trains and from 1.16 million to 1.7 million for ConfirmTkt. He also reported a 204 per cent year-on-year increase in iOS installs and an improvement in marketing ROI from 170 per cent to 250 per cent.
Chakraborty has also worked on AI-led marketing automation, developing workflows to identify non-incremental advertising spend, detect creative fatigue and audience saturation, and generate performance reports with optimisation recommendations.
Earlier, as senior manager – growth, he led performance and growth strategy for ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt, including paid acquisition, audience segmentation and CRM. His work included a reported 29 per cent increase in bookings alongside a 19 per cent reduction in cost per booking through Google UAC restructuring.
Before joining ixigo, Chakraborty was growth manager at Fynd, where he handled performance marketing and lifecycle growth. He also held digital marketing roles at FreshToHome and Ace Turtle Services.
Chakraborty holds an MBA in marketing, with minors in finance and operations, from the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi and a BTech in computer science and engineering from the Institute of Engineering & Management.
In his new role, Chakraborty will oversee a wider growth mandate as ixigo expands cross-selling and AI-led initiatives across its travel and mobility ecosystem.
