Investec picks Infosys Finacle cloud platform for multi-country banking overhaul
Bank to modernise operations across four markets using Finacle SaaS on Microsoft Azure
Bengaluru: Investec has selected the cloud-based banking platform from Infosys Finacle to modernise its core banking operations across South Africa, the UK, Mauritius and the Channel Islands, marking a major step in the bank’s digital transformation strategy.
As part of the multi-country programme, Investec will migrate from its legacy banking platforms to the Finacle Digital Banking Solution Suite, which will run as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering on Microsoft Azure.
The implementation will include the Finacle Deposits Suite, Lending Suite, Virtual Accounts Management and Liquidity Management Solution, providing the bank with an integrated cloud-native platform to improve operational efficiency, support regulatory compliance and strengthen business agility.
The transformation is also aimed at preparing Investec for greater adoption of artificial intelligence. Finacle’s real-time data capabilities and AI-ready architecture are expected to help the bank improve data readiness, generate deeper business insights and deliver more personalised digital banking experiences.
The lending platform is designed to streamline end-to-end digital loan journeys, enabling faster product launches and more tailored offerings. Meanwhile, the virtual accounts management solution will simplify collections and payments for corporate customers through real-time reconciliation and enhanced cash flow visibility.
Investec will also deploy Finacle’s liquidity management platform to gain real-time visibility into cash positions and working capital across business entities, enabling stronger financial controls and more effective liquidity management.
The platform’s API-driven architecture will allow the bank to integrate more easily with fintech partners and third-party services, helping accelerate innovation and expand digital offerings.
Running on Microsoft Azure through the Microsoft Marketplace, the SaaS platform is expected to provide greater scalability, resilience and availability as Investec expands its operations.
The project reflects the growing shift among global financial institutions towards cloud-native banking platforms, with banks increasingly replacing legacy systems to improve operational flexibility, support AI adoption and deliver faster digital services across multiple markets.
