Innocean opens Bengaluru office to crack India’s tech heartland

The Seoul-headquartered agency bets big on AI and data as it deepens its 20-year India play

BENGALURU: Innocean is moving south. The global marketing communications giant, which operates across 22 countries from its Seoul headquarters, has planted its flag in Bengaluru, and it has come armed with algorithms.

The new office marks a sharp pivot for the agency, which first waded into India back in 2005. Two decades on, it is done playing it safe. Bengaluru, home to a thicket of tech giants, hungry startups and sprawling Global Capability Centres, is exactly the kind of terrain Innocean wants to mine. The plan: build a hybrid business model fusing data, AI-driven performance and predictive analytics into its marketing offering. Less gut feel, more gigabytes.

The commercial ambitions are equally muscular. Innocean India intends to push aggressively into high-growth sectors, widening its client roster well beyond its traditional stomping grounds. It already has form: the agency served as master agency for Hyundai Motor’s sports sponsorship marketing at the 2026 ICC Cricket World Cup, about as high-profile a brief as India gets.

Santosh Kumar, chief operating officer of Innocean India, called the launch “a strategic milestone that reflects our journey of continuous reinvention.” Translation: the old agency playbook is being torn up, and Bengaluru is where the new one gets written.

His boss is equally bullish. JungA Kim, group chief executive officer of Innocean, described India as “a strategically critical market and a land of immense future opportunity”, and made clear this is no routine ribbon-cutting. “This is not merely a geographic expansion,” she said, “but a pivotal milestone in our evolution beyond a traditional agency into new business domains.”

In a city that never stops disrupting itself, Innocean has picked the right postcode. Now it just has to deliver.
