IndiGo appoints Kiran Thadimarri as CFO as Gaurav Negi moves to advisory role
Deputy CFO takes charge while long-serving finance chief transitions to managing director’s office
New Delhi: IndiGo is making a smooth landing on the finance front. India’s largest airline has appointed deputy chief financial officer Kiran Thadimarri as its new chief financial officer, while long-time finance chief Gaurav Negi transitions into an advisory role to the managing director.
InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, said its board of directors approved the leadership changes at a meeting held on July 27, 2026.
Under the approved changes, Gaurav Negi stepped down as chief financial officer at the close of business on July 27 and assumed the role of advisor to the managing director. Meanwhile, Kiran Thadimarri took over as chief financial officer and key managerial personnel with effect from July 28, 2026.
The company disclosed the appointments under SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements and said the filing has also been made available on its corporate website.
A chartered accountant by profession, Thadimarri brings more than 24 years of experience across finance and corporate leadership. During his career, he has worked in controllership, financial planning and analysis, business finance, treasury, capital raising, taxation, audit and investor relations.
Before taking over as CFO at IndiGo, Thadimarri served as deputy chief financial officer. His previous assignments include leadership roles at InterGlobe Enterprises, Udaan, where he was part of the leadership team, Genworks Health as co-founder and chief financial officer, and more than 13 years with General Electric.
The company clarified that the appointments do not involve any change to the board of directors and, therefore, disclosure relating to relationships between directors is not applicable.
The regulatory filing was signed by Neerja Sharma, company secretary and chief compliance officer.
Shortly after the announcement, Gaurav Negi reflected on his tenure in a post on LinkedIn, confirming his transition after more than four years as CFO.
“After more than four rewarding years as the CFO of IndiGo, I am transitioning into an advisory role to the Managing Director,” Negi wrote. He thanked the company’s board, leadership team, finance colleagues, business partners, financial institutions, rating agencies, auditors, analysts, investors and journalists for their support throughout his tenure.
Negi said the airline had strengthened its financial foundation, supported its growth ambitions and created long-term value for shareholders during his time as CFO. Describing the achievements as a collective effort, he added that he was moving into the new role with “immense gratitude, a deep sense of pride, and many cherished memories.”
The leadership transition comes as IndiGo continues to expand its domestic and international network, with the appointment ensuring continuity in the airline’s finance function while retaining Negi in a strategic advisory capacity.
