MUMBAI: Hero Motors has put more power behind its earnings, with consolidated net profit rising nearly 147 per cent year on year in the quarter ended 30 June 2026, while revenue from operations grew 24.9 per cent. The company also plans to tighten its grip on UK-based Hewland Engineering, approving a £0.60 million acquisition that will increase its stake in the subsidiary from 51 per cent to 90 per cent.

According to the unaudited financial results approved by the board on 13 October 2026, Hero Motors reported consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 319.32 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 255.74 crore in the corresponding period last year. Net profit rose to Rs 9.57 crore from Rs 3.88 crore.

Total consolidated income, including other income, stood at Rs 322.64 crore, compared with Rs 263.94 crore a year earlier. Profit before tax increased to Rs 15.59 crore from Rs 6.46 crore.

Hero Motors’ Powertrain Solutions segment remained its larger business by revenue, generating Rs 170.53 crore in the June quarter, compared with Rs 135.54 crore a year earlier. Segment results stood at Rs 33.50 crore, against Rs 18.11 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The Alloy and Metallics segment recorded revenue of Rs 165.91 crore, up from Rs 127.89 crore. However, the segment reported a loss of Rs 2.55 crore, narrower than the Rs 3.66 crore loss recorded a year earlier.

After accounting for inter-segment revenue, consolidated revenue from operations came to Rs 319.32 crore. Total expenses stood at Rs 307.06 crore, compared with Rs 257.47 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The company’s consolidated earnings per share were Rs 0.27, against Rs 0.13 in the corresponding period last year.

Alongside the results, Hero Motors’ board approved the acquisition of 8,039 equity shares of £1 each in Hewland Engineering Limited for a total consideration of approximately £0.60 million. The shares are held by existing shareholders William Hewland and Siobhan Hewland.

The transaction will increase Hero Motors’ ownership in the UK subsidiary from 51 per cent to 90 per cent, with Hewland continuing as a subsidiary. The company has indicated an expected completion period of approximately six months, subject to applicable requirements.

Hewland Engineering designs and manufactures high-performance transmission and drivetrain components for performance automotive, motorsport, electric vehicle and aerospace applications. Incorporated on 29 May 1957, the company also provides custom engineering solutions and invests in research and development.

Hewland reported turnover of Rs 134.92 crore in FY26, down from Rs 160.49 crore in FY25. Its turnover in FY24 was Rs 148.11 crore. It recorded a loss after tax of Rs 3.74 crore in FY26.

Hero Motors’ results also follow its initial public offering, which was completed after the June quarter. The company issued 7,14,28,571 fresh equity shares at Rs 84 apiece, raising Rs 600 crore. The offer for sale comprised 4,70,23,809 shares held by OP Munjal Holdings and 5,95,238 shares held by Hero Cycles Limited, together amounting to Rs 400 crore.

The company’s shares were listed on the National Stock Exchange and BSE on 23 September 2026.

The board had also declared an interim dividend of Rs 0.32 per equity share for FY27, aggregating Rs 12.14 crore, according to the filing.

Hero Motors’ latest results show stronger year-on-year revenue and profit, while the proposed increase in its Hewland stake would deepen its ownership of a business serving specialist automotive and engineering markets. The acquisition is expected to take around six months to complete.
