Hariharan T K joins Dish TV as senior vice president, DTH business growth, South
Telecom and consumer-goods veteran with over 30 years of experience, most recently group chief executive of GoTalk in Dubai, will run from Bangalore
NOIDA: Thirty years, eight big-name employers and a new job in the cut-throat world of direct-to-home television. Hariharan T K has joined Dish TV as senior vice president, DTH business growth, South, and the company has signed up a seasoned dealmaker.
Before joining, Hariharan was group chief executive officer of the GoTalk Group of Companies in Dubai. He brings over 30 years of rich experience in strategic planning, business transformation, and sales and marketing leadership. Along the way he has held key leadership positions with renowned organisations including Sun Direct, MTS, Aircel, Vodafone, Tata Tele Business Services, Reliance Infocomm, Gillette and Pepsi. It is a career that runs from soft drinks and razors to mobile networks and satellite television, and few executives have sold to so many kinds of customer.
Hariharan has a strong track record in scaling businesses, strengthening operational excellence, building high-performing teams and delivering sustainable growth across diverse markets. The company says it is confident that his vision, passion for excellence and collaborative leadership style will be invaluable as it continues its growth journey.
On the personal front, Hariharan enjoys listening to music. The company has also extended a warm welcome to his spouse Ambili and son Tarun into the Dish family, and wished him all the success in his new assignment.
The logic of the hire is easy to see. DTH is a fight for the household, squeezed between cable, streaming and cheap data, and winning it takes people who understand distribution, pricing and the customer at the doorstep. A leader who has worked at both Sun Direct, a rival in the South, and at several of India’s biggest telecom operators, and who has spent years in the mass-market world of Gillette and Pepsi, knows how to grow a subscriber base in a crowded field. If the South is the prize, Hariharan looks well equipped to chase it.
