Haldiram’s brings sibling banter and unsaid feelings to Raksha Bandhan

‘Keh Do Dil Ki Baat’ campaign uses food, humour and everyday sibling moments to spark conversations

MUMBAI: Sibling love has a funny way of hiding in plain sight usually behind a taunt, a stolen snack or an argument over absolutely nothing. Haldiram’s is turning that familiar sibling code into the centrepiece of its Raksha Bandhan campaign, ‘Keh Do Dil Ki Baat, Haldiram’s Ke Saath’, urging brothers and sisters to say the things they usually leave unsaid.

Rather than reaching for the usual picture-perfect Raksha Bandhan sentiment, the campaign leans into the messier, more recognisable side of siblinghood constant teasing, pointless squabbles, pulling each other’s leg, sharing food and quietly checking in when it matters.

The campaign film explores how affection between siblings often gets lost in translation. A compliment can feel too awkward, an apology may remain stuck in the throat and an outright “I love you” can sound almost unnatural. Yet, when something really matters, siblings tend to show up without needing to say much.

That emotional shorthand forms the backbone of the campaign, giving Raksha Bandhan a more contemporary lens. Instead of focusing only on the ritual of tying a rakhi, Haldiram’s turns its attention to the years of jokes, fights, memories and small acts of care that build the relationship.

And, naturally, there is food in the middle of it all. With mithai and snacks serving as familiar fixtures of Indian celebrations, Haldiram’s uses them as a backdrop for those conversations that might otherwise never happen.

Divya Batra, VP – Marketing, Haldiram’s, said the campaign was designed to reflect the way siblings express affection through everyday actions rather than grand declarations. She added that Raksha Bandhan offers an opportunity to say some of the things that are usually left unsaid.

The brand is also taking the idea beyond the film with a virtual Mithai Shop on Zepto. Consumers receive an interactive leaflet with their Zepto order, which can be scanned to access Haldiram’s virtual store and order mithai for loved ones.

The campaign ultimately taps into a simple contradiction at the heart of sibling relationships: the people you can tease without mercy are often the people you find hardest to thank, compliment or tell you love them.

This Raksha Bandhan, Haldiram’s is betting that sometimes the easiest way to break that silence is to simply keh do dil ki baat.
