MUMBAI: Godrej Industries has hit a profit speed bump. The group reported a decline in consolidated profit for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, even as income climbed by 11 per cent, with its diversified portfolio delivering a mixed performance.

Godrej Industries reported consolidated total income of Rs 6,360.30 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 5,718.97 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from operations increased to Rs 5,448.09 crore from Rs 4,459.80 crore, while other income stood at Rs 912.21 crore, compared with Rs 1,259.17 crore a year earlier.

The stronger topline, however, did not translate into higher profits. Consolidated profit after tax fell to Rs 523.36 crore from Rs 725.35 crore in Q1 FY26, a decline of nearly 28 per cent. Profit attributable to the owners of the company stood at Rs 518.36 crore.

Profit before share of profit of equity-accounted investees, exceptional items and tax declined to Rs 608.38 crore from Rs 966.06 crore. After accounting for the share of profit of equity-accounted investees, profit before tax stood at Rs 732.20 crore, compared with Rs 1,058.56 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The group’s operating performance was mixed across businesses. Estate and Property Development remained the largest segment by revenue at Rs 1,334.86 crore, although this was down from Rs 1,619.10 crore a year earlier. Its segment profit also fell to Rs 501.82 crore from Rs 920.57 crore.

Meanwhile, Chemicals revenue rose to Rs 1,160.63 crore from Rs 882.74 crore, with segment profit increasing to Rs 159.22 crore from Rs 85.76 crore. Animal Nutrition revenue grew to Rs 1,302.09 crore from Rs 1,156.24 crore, while its segment profit rose to Rs 84.69 crore from Rs 66.25 crore.

Finance and Investments also gained momentum, with revenue increasing to Rs 965.63 crore from Rs 672.44 crore and segment profit rising to Rs 100.41 crore from Rs 70.61 crore. Veg Oils revenue climbed to Rs 769.66 crore from Rs 539.23 crore, while segment profit increased to Rs 88.96 crore from Rs 76.92 crore.

Not all businesses moved in the same direction. Crop Care revenue declined to Rs 349.02 crore from Rs 402.57 crore, while segment profit fell to Rs 75.55 crore from Rs 116.46 crore. Dairy slipped into a Rs 1.90 crore segment loss, compared with a Rs 4.31 crore profit in Q1 FY26.

At the standalone level, the picture was weaker. Total income rose to Rs 1,326.68 crore from Rs 1,060.67 crore, but the company reported a net loss of Rs 5.41 crore, widening from a loss of Rs 29.98 crore a year earlier.

The group also recorded 35,998 stock grants to eligible employees during the quarter under its Employee Stock Grant Scheme. Its consolidated results include businesses across chemicals, animal nutrition, real estate, finance and investments, dairy, crop care and hospitality.

The results were reviewed by the Audit Committee and approved by the board on 13 August 2026, with the statutory auditors issuing an unmodified review conclusion.
