MUMBAI: G-SHOCK is ready to turn up the toughness and turn manga into a real-world playground. Casio Computer Co. Ltd., the Japan-headquartered parent company of Casio India, will participate in the third edition of Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! on 3 and 4 October 2026 at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, New Delhi.

The two-day festival will see G-SHOCK build an immersive brand experience around its Japanese heritage, iconic watches and the visual energy of anime. Rather than simply putting timepieces behind glass, the brand will use manga-inspired storytelling, live demonstrations and physical challenges to bring its “Absolute Toughness” proposition to life.

At the centre of the experience will be a dedicated G-SHOCK booth in the East Zone Plaza of Pacific Mall. The space will translate the brand’s heritage into manga frames, placing its watches against recognisable Indian backdrops and everyday situations where resilience, determination and grit take centre stage.

The manga treatment is designed to connect G-SHOCK’s Japanese roots with the energy of everyday India. Through action-led visuals, the brand will explore how its long-standing focus on toughness can be expressed through situations and characters familiar to Indian audiences.

The booth will also feature a display zone showcasing G-SHOCK’s Japanese engineering alongside limited-edition releases. Visitors will additionally get a look at the new Sushi collection, which takes inspiration from one of Japan’s most globally recognised culinary traditions.

But the experience will not stop at looking. An interactive Manga Wall will put G-SHOCK’s durability directly through its paces, with live Water, Shock and Mud Resistance Tests presented through high-energy action frames designed to mimic the movement and drama of manga.

That mix of spectacle and product demonstration gives visitors a chance to see the watches being tested rather than simply being told about their toughness. It also places the engineering story within the broader pop-culture setting of an anime festival.

The experience will extend into personalisation through the Manga Avatar & Personalisation Station. Visitors can create their own manga-inspired avatar and become part of a customised G-SHOCK-themed storyline, adding a personal twist to the brand’s anime-led activation.

For those looking for a little more competition, the Hang Challenge will bring physical endurance into the mix. Participants will test their strength and stamina, while the day’s top performers will earn a place on the daily leaderboard.

The activation reflects the growing overlap between Japanese pop culture and youth-focused consumer experiences in India. With anime, manga, gaming and Japanese-inspired aesthetics becoming increasingly visible in popular culture, G-SHOCK is using the festival to place its watches inside that wider cultural conversation.

Takuto Kimura, managing director, Casio India, said the brand has sought to stay true to its core while embracing new forms of cultural expression. He added that the connection between Japanese and Indian youth culture creates an opportunity to engage consumers who increasingly view watches as an extension of individuality rather than purely functional products.

For G-SHOCK, the two-day presence at Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! therefore brings several strands together: Japanese engineering, manga-inspired storytelling, product demonstrations, personalisation and physical challenges. The result is an experience designed to move the brand beyond the watch counter and into the world of anime and Japanese pop culture.

The G-SHOCK experience will be located in the East Zone Plaza at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, New Delhi, during the third edition of Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! on 3 and 4 October 2026.
