FUJIFILM India appoints Rashmika Mandanna as imaging brand ambassador
Actor will front Electronic Imaging, instax and Photo Imaging businesses across India
MUMBAI: Say cheese, because FUJIFILM India is putting a familiar face behind the lens. The company has appointed actress Rashmika Mandanna as its brand ambassador for its Imaging Solutions portfolio, bringing her into campaigns spanning Electronic Imaging, instax and Photo Imaging across the country.
The partnership gives FUJIFILM India a recognisable celebrity face as it looks to deepen its connection with younger consumers and present photography as more than simply taking a picture. The company is positioning the association around capturing, creating, sharing and preserving moments, with Rashmika’s own familiarity with instax adding a personal link to the portfolio.
Rashmika has built a broad audience across Indian cinema, and FUJIFILM India is looking to use that reach across different segments of its imaging business. Her association will cover digital cameras aimed at photography enthusiasts and professionals, instax instant cameras and smartphone printers, QuickSnap spontaneous photography products, binoculars and photo printing solutions.
The brand says the partnership comes as photography continues to evolve from a functional activity into a form of creative expression. At the same time, consumers are increasingly rediscovering the appeal of turning images captured digitally into physical photographs that can be held, shared and preserved.
Rashmika herself is already an instax user, giving the partnership a product connection beyond a conventional celebrity endorsement. She said photographs allow people to hold on to moments and feelings long after they have passed, adding that she enjoys capturing spontaneous moments and turning them into physical photographs.
For FUJIFILM India, the bigger opportunity lies in connecting the different ends of the photography journey. Someone discovering instant photography through an instax camera, a smartphone printer or QuickSnap can sit within the same broader imaging ecosystem as an enthusiast using a digital camera or someone looking for professional photo printing.
Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, said Rashmika’s warmth, positivity and ability to connect with audiences across the country align with the company’s purpose of “Giving our world more smiles”. He added that the association is intended to encourage a new generation to discover photography while building on Fujifilm’s existing relationship with Indian consumers.
Arun Babu, Associate Director, Imaging Solutions Division at FUJIFILM India, said the company’s imaging portfolio extends beyond cameras, bringing together instax, digital cameras, QuickSnap, printing solutions and binoculars. He said Rashmika’s popularity across India and different age groups makes the partnership relevant as the company looks to encourage people to explore photography and new forms of self-expression.
The association also comes as Fujifilm continues to build physical and experiential touchpoints around imaging in India. Its initiatives include the Fujifilm Spectrum tour, X-Space and the House of Photography in Mumbai, which are designed to give consumers opportunities to explore, learn and engage with its imaging products.
For the company, these initiatives serve a purpose beyond product display, particularly as photography becomes increasingly intertwined with social media, personal identity and visual storytelling. The challenge is no longer simply getting people to click, but giving them more reasons to decide what happens to that click afterwards.
With Rashmika now joining that journey, FUJIFILM India is betting that a familiar face can help make the world of cameras, instant prints and imaging technology feel a little more immediate to the next generation of consumers. The partnership therefore puts the focus not just on the picture being taken, but on the memories that make people want to take it in the first place.
