Frederica Constable named chief growth officer at Omnicom Media UK
New chief growth officer arrives via the Mediabrands acquisition, bringing a career built entirely on new business wins across London’s media agency scen
UK: Growth jobs in media agencies tend to go to people who have spent their careers doing exactly one thing well: winning new clients. Frederica Constable is that person. Omnicom Media UK has named her chief growth officer, handing her responsibility for driving growth across the group and its agency brands at a moment when the London operation has just absorbed a wave of talent through its acquisition of Mediabrands.
Constable’s path here has a pleasing symmetry to it. She spent sixteen years working her way up through the classic agency ladder, starting as a media executive at MediaCom in 2010 and climbing steadily through planner buyer, senior planner buyer and media manager roles before a short stint at PHD UK. From there she landed at M.i. Media for just over seven years, rising from account director to business director, before a brief spell at Assembly Global as client director for new business signalled where her career was really headed.
The pivot into dedicated new business leadership came properly at Initiative, where she took on the head of new business EMEA role in 2024. When IPG Mediabrands folded Initiative’s new business function into its wider structure the following year, Constable moved up to head of new business EMEA for Mediabrands itself, a region-spanning remit that would have put her in front of some of the largest pitch processes in European advertising. That role lasted through to Omnicom’s acquisition of Mediabrands, at which point she transitioned into Omnicom Media Global’s growth team before landing the top UK growth job.
Constable was generous in crediting the people who shaped her along the way, thanking Nicole Kelly and Jimmy Schougaard for what she learned across Initiative and Mediabrands, and Laura Fenton for backing her into the new role leading the UK team. That kind of institutional memory, someone who has been pitching and winning business across nearly every major holding company structure in London, from MediaCom to PHD to M.i. Media to Initiative to Mediabrands and now Omnicom, is exactly the sort of continuity a growth function benefits from during a period of consolidation.
The timing matters too. Media holding company mergers tend to create genuine uncertainty among clients about which teams and relationships survive the integration. Handing the UK growth brief to someone who joined via the Mediabrands deal itself, and who clearly has the trust of leadership on both sides of that transaction, is a sensible way for Omnicom Media UK to reassure the market that the combined entity is functioning smoothly and is very much open for new business.
