Flutrr appoints co-founder Anirban Banerjee as interim chief executive officer
Former chief marketing officer to lead product innovation and growth in leadership overhaul
MUMBAI: flutrr is rewriting its leadership playbook as it gears up for its next phase of growth. The relationship app has elevated co-founder Anirban Banerjee to the role of interim chief executive officer, expanding his responsibilities beyond marketing to oversee the company’s broader strategic direction.
Banerjee takes over from his previous position as chief marketing officer and will work alongside Kaushik Banerjee as the company undertakes an organisational restructuring focused on faster execution, product innovation and long-term growth.
As interim chief executive officer, Banerjee will oversee overall company management while directly leading the product and marketing functions. According to the company, his mandate includes driving flutrr’s brand repositioning, realigning teams and accelerating strategic product development.
The leadership reshuffle follows the appointment of Ankit Santra as chief marketing officer, creating a new executive structure aimed at supporting the dating platform’s expansion in India’s competitive relationship app market.
Announcing his appointment on LinkedIn, Anirban Banerjee said the company was entering an exciting phase marked by organisational changes, stronger product innovation and a refreshed long-term vision.
He said flutrr is restructuring its teams to improve speed and agility while pushing product development further than before. Banerjee added that stepping into the new role presents an opportunity to help steer the company’s next phase of growth alongside its leadership team.
In a separate announcement, flutrr credited Banerjee with playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth since its inception. The startup said his leadership had helped strengthen the brand, guide strategic initiatives and build the business with clarity and purpose.
Founded in 2021, flutrr positions itself as a multilingual, inclusive relationship app designed for Indian users. The platform focuses on compatibility-driven matchmaking while emphasising user safety, regional language support and inclusivity.
Before becoming interim chief executive officer, Banerjee spent more than four years as flutrr’s chief marketing officer, where he led the company’s branding and marketing strategy. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and product roles at MeVero and also served as a campus representative for MTV India. He has completed a management development programme in marketing from Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
With a revamped leadership team now in place, flutrr is betting that sharper product innovation and a more agile organisational structure will help drive its ambitions as it seeks to redefine modern matchmaking in India.
