DS Group bakes up India debut for Britain’s cult favourite Ben’s Cookies
From Oxford’s ovens to Indian high streets, Ben’s Cookies enters India with gooey treats and premium gifting plans.
GURUGRAM: Fresh out of the oven and straight into India’s growing appetite for indulgence, Britain’s cult-favourite cookie brand Ben’s Cookies is finally making its India debut and it’s bringing plenty of gooey charm along with it.
In a move that is equal parts sweet tooth and strategy, FMCG major DS Group has signed an exclusive partnership with iconic British dessert brand Ben’s Cookies to launch the bakery chain across the country. Founded in 1983 in Oxford’s historic covered market, Ben’s Cookies has built a loyal global following for its chunky, melt-in-the-middle cookies baked fresh throughout the day.
The India rollout will lean heavily into that “fresh from the oven” experience, with every boutique designed around live baking. Alongside signature flavours such as milk chocolate chunk, white chocolate & macadamia, and ginger & dark chocolate, the brand will also introduce eggless variants tailored for Indian consumers.
The cookie chain is also betting big on gifting culture, offering festive and corporate hampers as premium treats. Individual cookies will start at Rs 325, while curated gifting boxes will go upwards of Rs 1,500.
“The arrival of Ben’s Cookies in India marks a significant milestone in DS Group’s strategic expansion within the premium food retail sector,” said Sanskriti Gupta, adding that the company plans to open eight to ten stores across India within the current financial year.
Ben’s Cookies is also eyeing India’s booming premium dessert market, where consumers are increasingly swapping mass-produced snacks for artisanal indulgences. The domestic cookie market, valued at USD 1.3 billion in 2024, is projected to touch USD 2.3 billion by 2033, driven by rising urban spending and a growing taste for premium handcrafted products.
“To ensure our traditional quality standards are mirrored in India, every Ben’s Cookies boutique will feature live-oven baking fresh batches throughout the day,” said Luke Menezes. Beyond cookies, stores will also serve cookie shakes, coffees, and ice cream sandwiches.
The brand will additionally be available through major food delivery and e-commerce platforms, ensuring cookie cravings can be sorted with just a few taps because apparently, resisting warm chocolate chunks is no longer an option.
