Dish TV CTO Veerender Gupta resigns amid transfer to subsidiary company

Senior management exit follows shift to Dish Infra Services after 23-year innings

MUMBAI: Veerender Gupta, Dish TV’s chief technology officer, has stepped down, closing out a near 23-year association with the broadcaster’s senior leadership. The company confirmed in a regulatory filing that the resignation takes effect from the close of business hours on 30 June.

Under regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s listing obligations and disclosure requirements, Dish TV informed exchanges that Gupta, designated chief technology officer and part of senior management, had tendered his resignation with immediate effect. As a consequence, he ceases to be part of Dish TV’s senior management.

The exit is not quite a clean break, though. Gupta stated in his resignation letter that his employment is being transferred from Dish TV India Limited to Dish Infra Services Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, meaning he technically stays within the fold, just several rungs removed from the parent’s senior leadership table.

For a man who has been part of the company’s inner circle for the better part of 23 years, the move marks less a dramatic departure and more a quiet reshuffle behind the scenes, one that nonetheless strips him of his senior management tag at Dish TV itself.

Whatever the technicalities, the optics are clear: after more than two decades steering technology at Dish TV, Gupta’s name drops off the senior leadership roster, even as he continues his innings under a different roof within the same group.
