DeHaat Honest Farms raises Rs 35 crore in Pre-Series A funding from OTP Ventures
Clean food brand targets threefold growth and Rs 200 crore ARR over 18 months
BENGALURU: Clean eating is getting a fresh capital boost. DeHaat Honest Farms, the pesticide-free consumer food brand launched by DeHaat, has raised Rs 35 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round led by OTP Ventures, with participation from Sadev Capital and Maiuni Ventures.
The company is also bringing in DeHaat co-founder Adarsh J Srivastava as chief executive officer to lead its next phase of expansion.
The funding comes as demand for food that is safe, traceable and responsibly sourced grows among Indian consumers. Honest Farms plans to use the capital to accelerate its geographic expansion, build awareness around pesticide-free produce and widen its product portfolio through new product development.
The company is targeting threefold growth over the next 12 to 18 months, with a goal of reaching Rs 200 crore in annual recurring revenue (ARR).
Honest Farms is built on DeHaat’s farmer network and sources its products directly from farmers within the agritech company’s ecosystem of more than 13 million farmers.
The company says this direct sourcing model gives it greater control over traceability and quality compared with conventional food brands that rely on fragmented procurement networks.
Each pack undergoes more than 230 quality checks and comes with a pesticide-free certificate, according to the company.
The brand currently offers more than 100 products across staples, superfoods and everyday essentials. Its products are available at more than 3,000 retail stores across over 120 cities, as well as through quick-commerce, e-commerce and modern trade platforms.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, Honest Farms plans to expand its retail presence to more than 10,000 stores, extending its reach to millions of additional households.
“When we started DeHaat over 14 years ago, our mission was simple: to improve the livelihood of Indian farmers. Honest Farms extends that same mission to every Indian household,” said DeHaat Honest Farms chief executive officer and DeHaat co-founder Adarsh J Srivastava.
He said the company aims to take its clean and traceable food proposition to more than 10 lakh Indian families over the next year.
“We are not just building another food company. We are building a movement to make clean food the new normal in India,” Srivastava added.
OTP Ventures managing partner Suhail Sameer said consumers were increasingly questioning the origins and ingredients of the food they buy.
“Honest Farms is solving that problem with an exceptionally strong foundation built on one of India’s deepest farmer networks and a clear consumer proposition centred around trust,” he said.
Sameer said the brand had demonstrated early product-market fit, distribution and a long-term growth opportunity, adding that the fund believes Honest Farms could become a major consumer food brand.
The investment comes as India’s clean and natural food segment gains traction amid rising health awareness and demand for greater traceability.
By combining DeHaat’s agricultural network with a consumer-facing food business, Honest Farms is betting that the next phase of India’s better-for-you food market will be built as much on trust and provenance as on taste and convenience.
