MUMBAI: Rawbare has just landed fresh capital, and it wants to spend it on growing up, not just growing fast. The direct-to-consumer eyewear brand has raised a new funding round from Teamology Softech and Media Services, with the amount kept under wraps.

The money is earmarked for expanding Rawbare’s retail footprint, fuelling product development and pushing into international markets, a familiar D2C playbook, but one the founders insist they intend to walk carefully rather than sprint through.

“This round is about building Rawbare the right way. Teamology understands what we are trying to protect, a brand built on design, quality and the trust of the people who wear it. The capital matters, and so does the alignment. We are not in a hurry to be everywhere. We want to be the eyewear brand people choose on purpose,” said Affan Ahmad, founder of Rawbare.

Co-founder Ankit Mor struck a similar note, framing the raise as fuel for scale rather than a licence to sprawl. “We built Rawbare in public, one customer and one conversation at a time. This round lets us take that same community and grow it well beyond where we started, into new cities and new markets, without losing what made people trust us in the first place,” he said.

On the investor side, Teamology’s founder Gulrez Alam made clear the bet was on discipline as much as ambition. “We backed Rawbare because it is rare to find a brand this disciplined about design and this honest with its customers. Affan and his team have built something with real depth, not just reach. We are investing in that conviction, and in where it can go next,” he said.

Founded in 2022, Rawbare sells prescription eyewear, sunglasses and optical frames directly to consumers, betting on design-led products to build a loyal following across India.

The eyewear market is crowded and getting louder by the month. Rawbare’s answer, backed now by Teamology’s cheque, is to grow slowly enough to stay trusted and fast enough to matter.
