Coca-Cola launches new global visual identity across 200 markets
New design system sharpens iconic brand assets as rollout begins across key regions
MUMBAI: The Coca-Cola Company has unveiled a new global visual identity system aimed at making every touchpoint of the brand instantly recognisable, while strengthening consistency across more than 200 markets.
Announced on 20 July, the refreshed identity is already rolling out across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The update is designed to ensure the world’s best-known soft drink brand presents a unified look and feel across packaging, retail spaces, coolers, vending equipment and digital platforms.
Rather than reinventing the brand, Coca-Cola has chosen to reinforce the visual assets that have defined it for generations. The familiar red and white colour palette remains at the centre of the identity, accompanied by a more prominent Dynamic Ribbon, the Arden Square and the signature Spencerian script. Together, these elements are intended to create a stronger and more consistent brand presence wherever consumers encounter Coca-Cola.
The company said the redesign is built around a simple strategic principle: making every Coca-Cola execution unmistakably Coca-Cola. As consumers increasingly engage with brands across physical and digital environments, the refreshed system seeks to deliver a cohesive experience regardless of the market or platform.
Speaking about the refresh, The Coca-Cola Company president, Coca-Cola Global Category, Arnab Roy, said the exercise was about evolving without losing sight of the brand’s heritage.
“Coca-Cola is one of the most recognised brands in the world, and with that comes a responsibility to keep evolving. This refresh is about being clearer and more consistent in how we show up, wherever people experience our brand. By building on the things people already know and love, we’re creating a stronger foundation for growth while staying unmistakably Coca-Cola,” Roy said.
The visual overhaul also extends to Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, which will now draw more closely from the master brand while retaining its own distinct identity. Key updates include larger “Zero Sugar” lettering, a prominent black Dynamic Ribbon on cans and black bottle caps on PET bottles, making the product easier to identify while reinforcing its connection to the wider Coca-Cola portfolio.
The company believes the revised packaging will improve shelf visibility and help consumers navigate the expanding range more intuitively, while preserving the familiar cues associated with the brand.
Commenting on the broader design philosophy, The Coca-Cola Company global vice president of design, Rapha Abreu, said, “For over a century, Coca-Cola has been a global symbol of optimism and authenticity. Now, with one seamless visual identity, we can deliver one recognisable brand experience to consumers.”
Alongside the visual refresh, Coca-Cola has also introduced a new immersive Brand Center and a suite of technology-powered Design Intelligence tools. Built for the company’s internal design and marketing teams as well as its network of agency partners, the new platforms are intended to improve governance, streamline creative processes and maintain brand consistency at scale.
With the rollout now underway across multiple regions, Coca-Cola is betting that a sharper, more unified identity will help one of the world’s most recognisable brands remain just as distinctive in an increasingly crowded marketplace.
