MUMBAI: Sunday may be a day of rest, but for some bosses, it is just another date on the work calendar. Campus Activewear is turning that familiar workplace frustration into a punchline, with Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal playing an employee who takes the office’s weekend expectations rather more literally than his boss would like.

The sports and athleisure footwear brand has launched a new integrated campaign under its ‘Move Your Way’ philosophy, using humour to explore how young professionals are negotiating workplace demands while trying to protect their personal time. Built around the thought, “One bold move can move the world your way,” the campaign places the everyday clash between office rules and individual freedom at the centre of its storytelling.

Set in a corporate boardroom, the campaign film features Kaushal as Rohit, an employee who turns up for a Sunday meeting with his own interpretation of what the day should look like. Rather than leaving his weekend interests at the door, he brings them into the workplace, leaving his boss increasingly exasperated.

From pottery and fitness to an impromptu party, Rohit’s activities gradually turn the meeting into something far removed from a conventional corporate gathering. When his boss accuses his generation of having no boundaries, Rohit responds with a pointed question: if employees are expected to come to the office on a Sunday, why should they leave their Sunday activities behind?

The exchange delivers the campaign’s central punchline, turning the language of workplace boundaries back on the person demanding that employees cross them. Rohit eventually walks away with his friends wearing Campus footwear, leaving the film’s message to land without a lengthy lecture on work-life balance.

The campaign draws on situations familiar to many young employees, including Sunday work calls and unwritten office rules. Rather than presenting the workplace as a battleground, it uses an exaggerated employee-boss exchange to highlight the tension between professional commitments and personal priorities. The humour comes from Rohit’s willingness to follow the logic of the workplace expectation to its absurd conclusion.

For Campus, the campaign also represents an extension of its brand philosophy from self-expression to the confidence to draw personal boundaries. The film positions movement as more than a physical activity, connecting it with the freedom to make choices and define success on one’s own terms.

Campus Activewear chief marketing officer Gaurav Sharma said the campaign takes the brand’s ‘Move Your Way’ philosophy into what he described as a braver space: the right to draw one’s own lines. He added that young Indians were redefining ambition on their own terms and that the brand wanted to stand alongside them as it entered its next chapter.

Kaushal said he enjoyed the film’s treatment of an everyday situation through an unexpected, humorous twist. Playing Rohit, he added, was enjoyable because the character is unapologetically himself and brings humour to workplace situations that audiences may recognise from their own experiences.

Beyond the film, the campaign marks the debut of Campus’ new visual identity, which is rooted in the same philosophy. Its dynamic lines and outward-facing arrows are designed to represent movement, individuality, freedom and self-direction. The visual system reflects the brand’s belief that there is no single route to personal growth or self-expression.

The identity refresh gives the campaign a broader role than a standalone advertising film. While the workplace story offers a humorous expression of the brand’s message, the new visual language is intended to carry the philosophy across Campus’ wider communications.

The rollout will span television, over-the-top (OTT) platforms and digital channels, with creator-led content extending the conversation beyond the main film. Campus is inviting creators to share their own perspectives on work, ambition, weekends, personal interests and boundaries, drawing on experiences that reflect the campaign’s central idea.

Using the hashtag #MoveYourWay, the initiative encourages audiences to interpret the philosophy through their own lives rather than simply repeat the campaign’s message. The approach places everyday experiences at the heart of the conversation, from negotiating weekend commitments to making room for interests outside work.

The campaign film is available on Campus Activewear’s Instagram page.

With the new campaign, Campus is bringing together celebrity-led storytelling, a refreshed visual identity and creator participation around a familiar cultural conversation. Its central proposition is simple: ambition does not have to mean being available around the clock, and sometimes the boldest move is deciding where work ends and personal life begins.
