BTS says ‘Namaste India’ in Google Gemini ad, reigniting India tour hopes
Google Gemini campaign has Indian ARMYs wondering if a long-awaited India visit is coming
MUMBAI: Namaste and no small amount of mayhem. BTS has sent Indian ARMYs into a frenzy after the K-pop supergroup greeted fans in Hindi in a new Google Gemini promotional video, reigniting speculation about a possible India visit.
The promotional reel, released by Google India on Instagram, features RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook interacting with Google’s AI tool. But it was the group’s Hindi greeting that quickly became the talking point.
“Namaste India! Kaise hain aap sab? Humne aapko miss kiya!” the members say in the video, telling Indian fans that they have missed them.
The India-specific message quickly triggered a wave of reactions online, with fans joking about everything from the members’ Hindi skills to getting them Indian identity documents.
The campaign has also revived speculation that BTS could eventually bring its current tour to India.
The group’s ARIRANG World Tour began on April 9, 2026, in Goyang, South Korea, and is scheduled to run through March 2027, covering 79 shows across 34 cities.
India, however, was not included in the tour’s initial announced schedule. While additional dates and regions have been teased, there has been no official confirmation of an India concert.
That has left Indian fans caught between excitement and caution. The Hindi message could simply be a localised element of Google’s advertising campaign, rather than a hint about the tour.
India-related interactions from BTS members have nevertheless kept hopes alive. V has previously greeted Indian fans with a “Namaste”, adding fuel to speculation around the group’s first major India appearance.
The latest buzz comes shortly after BTS announced that the group would not participate in next year’s Grammy Awards.
The members shared identical statements on their individual Instagram accounts, saying they wanted their music to be heard and appreciated without being divided by region or language.
The decision followed the Recording Academy’s introduction of a new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category for the 69th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 7, 2027.
For now, there is no India date on the BTS tour calendar. But with seven members saying “Humne aapko miss kiya”, Indian ARMYs have certainly been given something to replay while waiting for the real announcement.
