Britannia elevates Piyush Bhandari, Abhishek Gaurav to vice-president roles

Bhandari takes charge of commercial operations, while Gaurav leads replenishment

MUMBAI: Britannia is giving two of its long-serving executives a fresh slice of responsibility. Britannia Industries has elevated Piyush Bhandari and Abhishek Gaurav to vice-president roles as the food major strengthens its senior management team.

The company’s board, at a meeting held on August 6, approved Bhandari’s elevation from general manager, commercial business and sales, to vice-president, commercial. Gaurav has been elevated from general manager, replenishment, to vice-president, replenishment.

Both appointments are effective from August 1, 2026, and are on a full-time employment basis.

Bhandari currently heads Britannia’s commercial business and sales function and has been with the company since 2006, when he joined as a management trainee. Over more than two decades, he has held several roles in commercial finance spanning sales, marketing, manufacturing and replenishment.

Before taking up his current position, Bhandari served as executive assistant to Britannia’s managing director. He is a chartered accountant by qualification.

Gaurav has been with Britannia since 2008, when he also joined as a management trainee. He currently heads the company’s replenishment function and brings more than 18 years of experience in supply chain management.

During his tenure, Gaurav has held several roles across replenishment, including regional planning manager, regional customer service and logistics manager and national manager, supply and demand planning.

He holds a mechanical engineering degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and an MBA in supply chain management from Indian Institute of Management Mumbai.

The leadership changes come shortly after Britannia reported a strong first quarter, with consolidated revenue from operations rising 9.5 per cent year-on-year to Rs 4,964 crore and owner’s share of profit after tax increasing 13.6 per cent to Rs 591 crore.

The appointments put two experienced internal leaders at the helm of key commercial and supply chain functions as Britannia looks to sustain growth while managing pressure on input costs and navigating changing consumer demand.
