Billboard India names Preeti Nayyar as COO

MUMBAI: Billboard India has appointed Preeti Nayyar as chief operating officer, bringing in a 25-year industry veteran to drive the brand’s next phase of growth in one of the world’s most dynamic music markets.

Nayyar, who spent nearly nine years building Universal Music Group’s culture and music marketing division, UMG For Brands, from scratch across India and Asia, steps into a role that puts her squarely in charge of business operations, P&L management, revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and industry relations.

Her résumé reads like a who’s who of global media: Universal Music Group, Disney, Radio Mirchi, and the India Today Group. Now she brings that firepower to Billboard India, launched in partnership with Other Side Ventures Pvt. Ltd., as the platform moves to cement itself as the definitive voice of Indian music at home and abroad.

Priyanka Khimani, the driving force behind bringing Billboard India to the country, left little doubt about her enthusiasm. “I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Preeti take the reins as COO,” she said. “Her knowledge and instincts in navigating brands and revenue partnerships, along with operational insights, is a tremendous asset. She understood the vision for Billboard India from the word go.”
