Mumbai: There’s plenty for investors to snack on as Bikaji Foods International Limited kicked off FY27 with a solid set of numbers, delivering double digit revenue growth despite higher input costs weighing on the food industry.

The ethnic snacks and packaged foods maker reported a 12.5 per cent year-on-year rise in revenue from operations to Rs 7,343 million for the quarter ended 30 June 2026. The growth was supported by a 7.7 per cent increase in volumes, reflecting healthy consumer demand, wider market reach and continued expansion of its distribution network.

The company maintained profitability even as inflation and global supply chain pressures continued to push up raw material costs. EBITDA stood at Rs 990 million, translating into an EBITDA margin of 13.5 per cent, while profit after tax came in at Rs 595 million with a PAT margin of 8.1 per cent. Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 2.40.

Ethnic snacks remained the biggest contributor to the business, accounting for nearly 75.7 per cent of total revenue while growing 11.4 per cent year-on-year. Western snacks emerged as the fastest growing category with revenue rising 21.3 per cent, highlighting increasing consumer appetite for the segment. Packaged sweets recorded a 4.4 per cent increase, while the papad business declined 6.5 per cent during the quarter.

The company also said its premium product portfolio and emerging sales channels continued to gain traction, complementing its traditional distribution network and helping drive overall growth.

Speaking on the performance, Bikaji Foods International Limited chairman and managing director Deepak Agarwal said the company had delivered a strong start to FY27, driven by robust volume growth across its portfolio. He added that the performance of the ethnic snacks and western snacks businesses reflected the strength of the brand, expanding distribution reach and sustained consumer demand.

According to Agarwal, the company improved its gross margin by 70 basis points year-on-year to 35.7 per cent despite persistent inflation in key raw materials. He said disciplined procurement, manufacturing efficiencies and pricing and product mix initiatives helped protect margins while the company continued investing in capacity expansion, distribution and new product development.

Looking ahead, the company said it remains focused on balancing growth with profitability as it strengthens its presence across India’s fast growing packaged snacks market. With demand holding steady and investments continuing across manufacturing and distribution, Bikaji is aiming to keep its growth story well seasoned in the quarters ahead.
