Areion Group appoints former IDBI Bank executive Suresh Khatanhar as group CEO

MUMBAI: Areion Group is banking on experience for its next phase of growth. The financial services firm has appointed veteran banker Suresh Khatanhar as its group chief executive officer, strengthening its leadership team as it expands across multiple business verticals.

Khatanhar brings more than four decades of experience in India’s banking and financial services sector. In his new role, he will oversee the group’s strategic direction, business growth initiatives and operational excellence across its businesses.

Before joining Areion Group, Khatanhar served as deputy managing director at IDBI Bank, where he was responsible for key functions including retail banking, treasury, centralised operations, risk management, government business, audit, legal and governance. During his tenure, he led business transformation initiatives and worked on strengthening governance and operational frameworks.

Welcoming the appointment, Areion Group founder, Manish Lalwani, said Khatanhar’s leadership and industry expertise would play a key role in the company’s next stage of expansion.
