GURUGRAM: Apollo Tyres has elevated Suneet Mehta to the role of head of distribution & trade excellence, reinforcing the company’s focus on strengthening its distribution network, channel partnerships and commercial execution across India.
Mehta announced his new role through a LinkedIn post, describing the appointment as an opportunity to further strengthen Apollo Tyres’ commercial engine by building robust partnerships, enhancing organisational capabilities and driving execution excellence across the business ecosystem.
“I have taken up the role of head of distribution & trade excellence at Apollo Tyres,” Mehta said, adding that sustainable growth is built through strong ecosystems where partnerships, capabilities, processes and execution work together. He also expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and said he looks forward to creating the next phase of impact.
A management professional with more than a decade at Apollo Tyres, Mehta has held several leadership positions across sales, distribution and channel management. Most recently, he served as channel and trade management head – India, where he led channel strategy for multiple tyre segments, managed a monthly portfolio exceeding Rs 1,000 crore and spearheaded go-to-market initiatives focused on rural markets and branded retail formats.
Before that, he worked as fleet mobility solutions head, where he led the commercialisation of innovative tyre management solutions, including pay-per-kilometre models. Under his leadership, the business expanded its fleet mobility offering to more than 5,000 vehicles while strengthening logistics partnerships and leveraging data analytics to improve fleet performance.

He also spent nearly six years as CV and OHT distribution network head – sales, leading dealer and sub-dealer expansion, rural go-to-market strategies, nationwide loyalty programmes and trade initiatives aimed at improving channel efficiency and retailer engagement.
Prior to these roles, Mehta worked as executive assistant to the president, where he managed strategic cross-functional projects spanning sales, distribution, research and development, logistics and supply chain operations.
Before joining Apollo Tyres in 2015, Mehta worked as a consultant at PwC India and began his professional career as a system engineer at Infosys. He holds a postgraduate qualification from the Indian Institute of Management Mumbai.
With Mehta now leading distribution and trade excellence, Apollo Tyres is expected to further sharpen its channel strategy, strengthen market execution and accelerate growth across its nationwide distribution ecosystem.
