MUMBAI: K-beauty is putting down fresh roots in India, and this time, flowers are doing the talking. South Korean beauty major Amorepacific has launched MAMONDE in India, bringing its flower-focused skincare proposition to the market exclusively through Nykaa.

The brand made its Indian debut on 15 August, following its recent expansion into the US. The launch also extends a decade-long partnership between Amorepacific and Nykaa, which has helped bring Korean beauty brands including Innisfree and Laneige to Indian consumers.

MAMONDE enters a market where K-beauty continues to find traction among younger, ingredient-conscious consumers. Its proposition is built around the philosophy ‘Let your skin bloom’, combining flower-derived ingredients with skincare science.

At the heart of the brand is more than 30 years of floral research and its proprietary Hyper-Flora technology, which combines flower-derived actives with advanced ingredients to target everyday skin concerns.

The brand is positioning its products around effective, high-performance formulations at what it describes as approachable price points, with a particular focus on skin goals such as healthy, radiant ‘glass skin’.

For Amorepacific, MAMONDE adds another name to its Indian portfolio as the company looks to build on the popularity of Korean beauty among Indian consumers.

Paul Lee, Country Head, Amorepacific India, said the company saw an opportunity to introduce a brand aimed at a younger, ingredient-conscious consumer, with MAMONDE combining floral expertise, efficacy and accessibility.

The launch also gives Nykaa another Korean beauty brand to add to its growing portfolio. Anchit Nayar, Executive Director and CEO, Nykaa Beauty, said MAMONDE brings together floral expertise, Korean beauty innovation and accessible skincare, while extending the companies’ 10-year relationship.

MAMONDE’s positioning goes beyond ingredients, with the brand advocating an approach to beauty centred on individuality and personal skin journeys. It aims to encourage consumers to embrace their own skin rather than chase a single definition of beauty.

The brand already has a presence across the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and several other international markets. In India, however, its journey begins with a single retail partner Nykaa as Amorepacific looks to plant another K-beauty flag in one of the world’s increasingly beauty-conscious markets.
