Amagi Media Labs Q2 revenue rises 27 per cent to Rs 476 crore
PAT jumps nearly 30-fold to Rs 75 crore as adjusted EBITDA margin expands to 18.7 per cent
MUMBAI: Amagi Media Labs is finding the right mix of cloud, content and cash. The Bengaluru-based media technology company has posted its highest-ever quarterly revenue and profitability, with a sharp jump in earnings adding a new dimension to its growth story.
The cloud-native software-as-a-service (SaaS) company reported revenue of Rs 476 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up 27 per cent year-on-year. Profit after tax (PAT) surged nearly 30-fold to Rs 75 crore, while adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) more than doubled, rising 114 per cent to Rs 89 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026.
The improvement was also visible in the margins. Adjusted EBITDA margin expanded by 7.6 percentage points to 18.7 per cent, while PAT margin reached 14.9 per cent, an improvement of 14.3 percentage points over the corresponding quarter last year.
The results, announced on 5 November, point to a quarter in which Amagi improved profitability alongside revenue growth. Its business provides cloud-based and AI-enabled technology solutions to media and entertainment companies globally, with services spanning the media content lifecycle.
The momentum extended into the first half of FY27. Amagi reported revenue of Rs 913 crore for the six months ended September 2026, a year-on-year increase of 29.5 per cent.
Adjusted EBITDA climbed 139 per cent to Rs 139 crore, with the margin expanding by seven percentage points to 15.3 per cent. PAT increased nearly 17-fold to Rs 109 crore, while PAT margin improved by 10.5 percentage points to 11.4 per cent.
Cash generation also registered a turnaround. Adjusted operating cash flow stood at Rs 94 crore in H1 FY27, compared with an outflow of Rs 98 crore in the corresponding period last year. The company ended the first half with cash and treasury balances of Rs 1,774 crore and no debt.
The shift from an operating cash outflow in the previous year’s first half to a positive inflow this time adds another dimension to the company’s improved financial performance. It also gives Amagi a sizeable cash balance as it continues to invest in its technology portfolio.
Beyond the financial numbers, Amagi used the quarter to expand its AI offering, launching four products: Amagi STUDIO, FANPULSE, Integrated Localization and Agentic NOC.
The launches form part of its broader Media Industry Cloud strategy, which aims to bring AI-enabled capabilities into the workflows of broadcasters and other media businesses.
The company also reported a commercial milestone for NEWSPULSE, its platform for news operations. The product went live at local stations belonging to a major US broadcast group, moving beyond product development into customer operations.
NEWSPULSE received TVTech’s Best of Show recognition at IBC 2026 and the Best Use of Agentic AI in Media award at the CSI Awards 2026. Amagi was also named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape 2026 assessment for the AI-driven business cycle in media.
The company said it expanded engagements with media networks across the United States, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region during the quarter. While it did not disclose the number or value of these engagements, the geographical spread points to the international markets in which it is seeking to grow its customer base.
Commenting on the performance, Amagi Media Labs managing director and chief executive officer Baskar Subramanian said the quarter marked new highs for revenue, adjusted EBITDA and PAT. He attributed the progress to the company’s efforts to scale its operations while maintaining financial discipline.
Subramanian identified three broad opportunities for the business: helping media customers improve operational efficiency, reach new audiences and maximise revenue from their content.
He said AI was expected to play an important role across all three areas. With NEWSPULSE entering customer operations and four new AI products launched during the quarter, the company is looking to build further on its Media Industry Cloud platform.
The focus, he added, would be on converting technological innovation into customer adoption while sustaining revenue growth, profitability and cash generation.
For media companies, the appeal of such technology lies in the possibility of managing complex workflows more efficiently, reaching audiences across platforms and finding new ways to monetise content. For Amagi, the commercial test will be how quickly its expanding product portfolio translates into wider adoption by customers.
Amagi also announced two appointments to its board. Dr Bhaskar Ghosh, former chief strategy and innovation officer at Accenture, and Srividhya Srinivasan, co-founder and chief technology officer of Amagi, have joined the board.
The appointments bring additional experience in artificial intelligence, technology and enterprise transformation as the company expands its global media technology operations.
Srinivasan’s appointment also brings the company’s technology leadership directly into board-level discussions, while Ghosh adds experience from enterprise technology and strategy.
With revenue and profitability reaching quarterly highs, a first-half cash flow turnaround and four new AI products entering its portfolio, Amagi’s latest results reflect a business looking to scale beyond traditional media technology services. The next measure of its progress will be whether its expanding AI ambitions can translate into sustained customer adoption and financial growth.
