Aisyah Razak-Derwish promoted to head, content at StarHub
Razak-Derwish will lead content strategy, investments and sports rights at StarHub
SINGAPORE: StarHub has promoted Aisyah Razak-Derwish to head, content, as the company looks to strengthen its content strategy, portfolio and investments across platforms.
Razak-Derwish, who has been with StarHub since 2020, previously served as senior manager, sports, where she led the company’s sports content strategy, including rights acquisitions, renewals, channel partnerships, carriage and OTT initiatives.
In her new role, Razak-Derwish will oversee StarHub’s content portfolio and strategy, with a focus on driving customer acquisition, engagement, retention and long-term value. She will also lead the sports content portfolio, including major rights acquisitions and renewals, channel partnerships, carriage and OTT.
Her responsibilities will include managing StarHub’s content investment strategy and portfolio budget, balancing audience demand, strategic priorities and commercial returns. She will also work with the product, marketing, media sales and content operations teams to translate content investments into audience engagement, subscriber growth and monetisation.
Razak-Derwish joined StarHub as manager, sports and OTT partnership, in June 2020. During her tenure, she played a key role in securing the Premier League for StarHub and in establishing partnerships for sports properties including F1, UFC, NBA, the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Bundesliga.
She was also involved in the launch of the Premier League on StarHub and has led programming initiatives across the company’s sports portfolio.
Before joining StarHub, Razak-Derwish was content acquisition manager at HOOQ, where she handled content acquisitions across SVOD, TVOD and AVOD platforms and managed partnerships in regional and global markets.
She earlier held sales roles at MediaPro and Hub Media Group, following a five-year stint as an education officer with Singapore’s Ministry of Education.
Razak-Derwish holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
