BENGALURU: Cupid, it seems, has found himself a new lieutenant. Aisle, the high-intent dating platform owned by Info Edge, has elevated Chandni Gaglani to executive vice president and head of Aisle, handing her the reins at precisely the moment the business is hitting its stride.

The numbers behind the promotion tell their own story. Over the past two years, Aisle has built its registered user base to 30 million, sustained half a million monthly active users, and posted revenue growth of 146 per cent, driven by stronger premium subscription uptake and deeper engagement. The platform now operates across more than 150 countries, with a fast-growing following among the global Indian diaspora, and has facilitated over 3 million meaningful matches since inception. For a category often dismissed as fickle and fleeting, those are figures with rather more staying power than the swipes suggest.

Gaglani is no newcomer to the business. She has been central to Aisle’s growth story already, leading product, marketing, operations, partnerships and business expansion, and brings over a decade of consumer technology experience to the corner office, including stints at Flipkart, Myntra and Udaan, where she scaled digital products and drove consumer growth. An ISB alumna, her brief now widens considerably: overall business strategy, AI-led innovation, trust and safety, and expansion into new markets, essentially the full playbook for turning a fast-growing app into a durable category leader.

Her own framing of the mandate leans appropriately ambitious. Speaking on the appointment, Gaglani said the focus would be on reimagining high-intent dating through thoughtful product innovation, AI-powered personalisation and experiences grounded in trust, while scaling the platform responsibly.

The timing is not incidental. Info Edge fully acquired Aisle earlier this year, a move that signalled long-term conviction in the company’s direction rather than a passing flirtation. With that backing now firmly in place, Aisle’s next phase looks reasonably well mapped out: growing the user base further, pushing premium adoption, strengthening regional offerings like Arike, and rolling out AI-powered product launches over the coming months, all while keeping trust and safety central to the experience.

For a sector built on the promise of meaningful connection, putting an operator with Gaglani’s track record in charge looks like a rather shrewd move, one that suggests Aisle intends to be taken seriously well beyond the dating app league table.
