Abundantia Entertainment appoints Ramesh Mundhra as head of business affairs & operations
Former Viacom18 executive brings two decades of finance and content expertise
MUMBAI: Lights, camera, operations. As India’s content industry continues to scale across cinema, streaming and regional entertainment, Abundantia Entertainment has appointed Ramesh Mundhra as head of business affairs & operations.
The appointment brings to the company a seasoned media executive with nearly two decades of experience spanning content production, acquisitions, finance, business planning and commercial strategy.
Mundhra joins Abundantia after an 18-year stint at Viacom18 Media Private Limited, where he most recently served as head – commercial – content production. In that role, he oversaw commercial and production functions across a diverse portfolio that included Hindi general entertainment channels, regional language content markets, digital programming for JioCinema and projects under Viacom18 Studios.
Prior to that, he was commercial – content acquisition – Viacom18 Studios & OTT Originals, leading commercial operations for content creation and acquisition across films and original digital content. Earlier, as head – business planning & strategy – Viacom18 Studios, he managed profit and loss responsibilities, content planning, business strategy and operational execution.
Before moving into content operations, Mundhra held the position of senior finance manager at Viacom18, overseeing a broad range of finance functions including accounting, taxation, audits and financial reporting.
His experience also extends beyond media. He worked with PepsiCo as assistant manager finance, handling plant accounting and reporting responsibilities, and began his career at Tata Sky Ltd as a management trainee – finance, focusing on revenue accounting, assurance and systems integration.
A qualified chartered accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Mundhra also holds a CPA qualification from AICPA.
The appointment comes as content companies increasingly seek executives who can bridge creativity and commercial discipline. With extensive experience across production economics, acquisitions, budgeting and operational strategy, Mundhra is expected to help strengthen Abundantia’s business and operational capabilities as it expands its film and digital content ambitions.
For Abundantia, the hire adds a seasoned operator with deep experience across the content value chain, underscoring the growing importance of strong business leadership behind the scenes of India’s entertainment industry.
