Warner Music Group CFO and COO Armin Zerza steps down after 16 months

Los Angeles: Warner Music Group is set for a leadership reshuffle after Armin Zerza stepped down from his roles as chief operating officer and chief financial officer, ending a tenure of just over a year at the global music company.

Zerza joined Warner Music Group as chief financial officer in May 2025 before taking on the additional role of chief operating officer in May 2026. He served in the dual role for four months before his departure.

During his time at Warner Music, Zerza was responsible for overseeing the company’s financial strategy while also managing its operational functions across the business.

Before joining the music company, Zerza spent more than six years at Activision Blizzard, where he served first as chief commercial officer and later as chief financial officer. In those roles, he helped steer the gaming giant’s commercial strategy and financial operations during a period of significant industry growth.

Earlier, he held senior leadership positions at Blizzard Entertainment, serving as chief financial officer before becoming chief operating officer.

Zerza began his international leadership career at Procter & Gamble, where he spent 11 years in a series of finance and corporate development roles. His responsibilities included serving as chief financial officer for Latin America, chief financial officer for Europe Baby Care, and director of mergers and acquisitions.

Warner Music Group has not yet announced Zerza’s successor or disclosed the reason for his departure.

The exit comes as media and entertainment companies continue to reshape their leadership teams to navigate a rapidly evolving global content and music business.
