Team Falcons reclaim EWC Club lead as Week 6 crowns four champions
Rocket League, PUBG Mobile, Rainbow Six Siege and Chess titles set up a tense final week
MUMBAI: The EWC is down to its final roll of the dice, and the leaderboard is anything but settled. Week 6 of the Esports World Cup 2026 (EWC) crowned champions across four titles, while Team Falcons stormed back to the top of the Club Championship standings with just one week left.
Team Falcons seized the Rocket League title after Samy “Dralii” Hajji, Yazeed Abdullah “Kiileerrz” Bakhashwin and Saleh Abdullah “Rw9” Bakhashwin swept Spacestation Gaming 4-0 in the Grand Final.
The victory also gave Dralii a slice of EWC history. After winning with Team BDS in 2024 and Karmine Corp in 2025, he became the first player to win three EWC trophies across three different rosters.
Falcons collected $400,000 (around Rs 3.8 crore) and 1,000 Club Championship points, while Rw9 was named tournament MVP. He averaged 0.78 goals, 0.83 assists and 1.91 saves per game during the campaign.
In the PUBG Mobile World Cup at EWC, S2G Esports had to survive a dramatic final stretch after reaching match point in Game 15. Despite being eliminated early in the final game, the team could only watch as rivals tried to overhaul their points total.
They held on to finish top after three days of competition, taking home $555,000 (around Rs 5.3 crore) across their Grand Final finish and group-stage placement.
Tianba’s Zhang “Qzz” Qingbo took the SONY MVP award after recording 35 eliminations and 32 knockdowns, along with $25,000 (around Rs 23.9 lakh) in prize money.
FaZe Clan defeated FURIA 3-1 to win the Rainbow Six Siege title, with Jaime “Cyber” Ramos, Lucas “soulz1” Schinke and Eduardo “KDS” Chiste Fontes becoming the first players to complete Siege’s Triple Crown by winning the Six Invitational, a Major and the EWC.
Coach Rafael “RafadeLL” de Oliveira also completed the same achievement.
Cyber was named SONY MVP after producing 53 eliminations against 29 deaths across the four-map Grand Final.
Chess delivered another dominant performance from Magnus Carlsen, who retained his EWC title for a second consecutive year.
Representing Team Liquid, Carlsen went unbeaten throughout the tournament, recording only wins and draws before defeating AG.AL‘s Denis Lazavik to claim the trophy.
The biggest shake-up came in the overall Club Championship, where Team Falcons reclaimed first place with 4,400 points, moving ahead of AG.AL‘s 4,100.
Falcons’ Rocket League triumph supplied the decisive boost, after AG.AL had climbed the standings on the back of Lazavik’s deep Chess run.
Team Vitality and Natus Vincere remain close enough to keep the race alive, setting up a potentially tight finish.
The final week will bring titles in Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite, Trackmania and CrossFire, while the Club Championship will also crown its overall winner.
With four champions already crowned and only one week left, the EWC has saved its biggest leaderboard drama for last.
