Spotify offers Premium annual plan at Rs 799 in India
Limited-period deal cuts Rs 591 from the Rs 1,390 annual price for eligible users
MUMBAI: Spotify is turning the volume up on savings. The music streaming platform has introduced a limited-period offer in India, giving eligible users 12 months of its Premium Standard plan for Rs 799, compared with the Rs 1,390 annual price mentioned in the offer details.
The promotional price represents a saving of Rs 591, bringing the effective cost to roughly Rs 67 a month when the upfront annual payment is spread across 12 months.
The offer applies specifically to Premium Standard and includes ad-free listening, offline downloads, unlimited skips, on-demand playback and higher-quality audio streaming on supported devices.
The annual option also allows users to pay once for the full 12-month period rather than manage monthly renewals.
There is, however, a catch to the catchy price. Spotify has made the promotion available only to eligible users, with availability potentially varying according to whether an account is new, already subscribed or returning to the service.
The company has promoted the deal as a “blockbuster offer”, but has not specified an end date for the promotion.
Users can check the Premium section of the Spotify app or Spotify’s website to see whether the Rs 799 annual option is available to their account. The applicable price and eligibility conditions will be displayed at checkout.
Spotify has also advised users to check the relevant terms and conditions before completing the purchase.
