Sony unveils two limited-edition GTA VI DualSense controllers
Black and White editions launch November 19, with India pre-orders opening September 10
MUMBAI: Vice City is getting a little more grip and a lot more neon. Sony has unveiled two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI, with the Black and White editions set to launch on November 19, the same day the game is scheduled to arrive.
The controllers borrow heavily from the look and atmosphere of Vice City, with both featuring a shimmering finish that shifts with the light to evoke the game’s sunset colours and neon-soaked nightlife. Moulded palm-tree elements add another tropical touch, while GTA VI branding sits on the touchpad.
The two editions take different routes through the fictional city. The White edition draws inspiration from Vice City by day, with its beaches and pastel skies, while the Black edition channels the city’s after-dark aesthetic.
The controllers retain the core DualSense features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Sony says these will respond to gameplay in Grand Theft Auto VI, adding dynamic resistance and haptic effects as players move through the game.
The controllers will cost $84.99 in the US, €84.99 in Europe and £74.99 in the UK. In Japan, the price is ¥12,480, including tax.
Pre-orders will open on September 10 at 10am local time in supported markets. In India, they will begin at 7:30pm IST on the same day.
There is a catch for collectors. The Black edition will have more limited distribution, with PlayStation Direct serving as its exclusive outlet in the US, UK and most of Europe. The White edition will be available through PlayStation Direct as well as regular retail channels.
The launch is timed directly with Grand Theft Auto VI, which is scheduled to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19. A PC version has not been confirmed, while the console versions are expected to run at 30 frames per second.
For fans, the controllers offer something beyond another piece of GTA merchandise: a way to bring a little of Vice City’s day-and-night personality into the hardware itself — before the game even gets switched on.
