S8ul qualifies in sixth title for Esports World Cup 2026 with Free Fire Max
Runner-up finish earns India roster EWC berth as S8UL eyes more global qualifications.
MUMBAI: Game on, level up. S8UL isn’t just collecting wins, it’s collecting passports to esports’ biggest stage. S8ul Esports has secured qualification in its sixth title for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026, after its Free Fire Max roster booked a place at the global tournament, further strengthening the organisation’s growing international campaign.
The latest qualification adds to S8ul’s presence across Honor of Kings, Chess, Trackmania, Apex Legends and Fortnite, making it one of India’s most represented esports organisations at this year’s EWC.
Free Fire returns to the Esports World Cup with 24 of the world’s top teams competing for a $1 million (approximately Rs 9.4 crore) prize pool from 15-18 July in Paris, France.
S8ul’s recently acquired Free Fire MAX lineup Naitik Sharma (Troll), Prince Saini (Prinxz), Jay Verma (Bunny), Harshit Nain (Jack07) and Abhishek Gupta (Stiven) qualified after finishing runners-up at the Free Fire Max India Cup (FFMIC) 2026 Spring, earning one of three Indian invitations to the global event.
The qualification followed a demanding multi-stage competition featuring City Qualifiers, In-Game Qualifiers, Group Stage, Knockout Stage, Point Rush and Champion Rush, with hundreds of teams battling for a handful of coveted spots.
Led by Prinxz, S8ul built momentum throughout the tournament. The team collected 186 points to finish sixth in Knockout Stage Week 1, maintained its consistency through Week 2 and produced its strongest display during Champion Rush.
After securing three Headstart Points in Point Rush, the roster amassed 131 points and two Booyahs across eight matches, sealing second place, Rs 17 lakh in prize money and qualification for esports’ biggest multi-title event.
The latest success also aligns with S8ul’s ambitious international expansion. Earlier this year, the organisation was selected for the Esports World Cup Foundation’s Club Partner Programme for the second consecutive year and announced plans to qualify across 13 game titles.
Alongside its Indian contingent, S8ul will field international rosters in Apex Legends and Fortnite, while Indian talent will represent the organisation in Chess, Honor of Kings, Trackmania and now Free Fire Max.
With qualification now confirmed across six titles, S8ul remains in contention for additional EWC berths in EA Sports FC, Fatal Fury, Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.
Scheduled from 6 July to 23 August, the Esports World Cup 2026 will feature more than 2,000 players, 200 clubs from over 100 countries, and a record-breaking $75 million (approximately Rs 714 crore) prize pool, making it the richest esports tournament in history.
