MUMBAI: Green is clearly the new gaming gear and Razer is making it transparent. Ahead of Xbox’s 25th anniversary celebrations, Razer has unveiled special-edition versions of three gaming accessories, giving its BlackWidow V4 75 keyboard, Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse and Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed earbuds a translucent green makeover.

The collection arrives as Gamescom approaches and Xbox prepares to mark its 25th anniversary, with Microsoft also unveiling a translucent green Xbox Series X console for the occasion.

The BlackWidow V4 75% Mechanical Gaming Keyboard leads the line-up at $210, making it $20 more than the standard black and white versions and $10 more than the existing Phantom Green variant. It retains the RGB lighting and hot-swappable keys of the regular model, but swaps the conventional exterior for a see-through green shell and keycaps.

The keyboard also gets a Razer and Xbox 25th anniversary-branded wrist rest, giving the retro-inspired design another nod to the milestone.

The Basilisk V3 Pro 35K gaming mouse is priced at $180. It can operate through a wired connection or Bluetooth and comes with Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle. Over Bluetooth, the company says it can deliver up to 210 hours of battery life.

Completing the trio are the Hammerhead V3 X Hyperspeed wireless earbuds, priced at $120. They feature 11mm drivers and a design reminiscent of Apple’s third-generation AirPods Pro, while adopting the same translucent green aesthetic.

Like the keyboard, the earbuds carry a $20 premium over their black and white counterparts.

The new designs are based on existing Razer products rather than entirely new hardware. The BlackWidow V4 75, for instance, was previously praised by IGN as the company’s “most thoughtful” keyboard and sits below the more feature-heavy BlackWidow V4 75 Pro in Razer’s line-up.

For Xbox fans willing to match their console with their accessories, Razer’s latest collection offers a fairly simple formula: take familiar hardware, make it see-through, paint it Xbox green and add a 25th-anniversary badge.

And with prices reaching $210, nostalgia, it seems, does not come cheap.
